And Welcome Max, sorry for stepping on your entry
The USS Tarawa I was on was an LHA-1. I think yours is a tad bit older.

Coastie, huh? You ain't paying ME to fly around in 50-60 knot winds and 30 foot seas and lowering my a$$ on a half inch cable. I'd rather face ISIS with a katana.

And don't let this Max R guy fool you. Marine aviators think they can fly anything, anywhere, anytime, stop on a dime and provide CAS 10 feet in front of your face. He's probably insane.

    Smile New Brit member

‘Howdy y’all’, or as we British former colonialists would say, ‘Good evening ladies and gentlemen’.

Here by invitation, courtesy of ‘Perianne’.

John V, a UK citizen, living in Thailand since 2008 and working as an English and Social Science teacher in Inner Mongolia, China, since 2011; now spreading British culture elsewhere after having been so rudely and violently expelled from our Majesty’s former Americas.

Of no particular ideological persuasion, but both a realist and pragmatist and so against western liberalism and cultural Marxism.
I believe everyone should do what they like without traditional values or morals, as long as I don’t have to live in that kind of society. I believe in government dependency, changing the climate, increasing welfare and feeding the world, as long as I don’t have to pay for it and I will believe in equality when Mr. Soros shares his wealth with me, because he’s got more than me and according to Mr. Obama, that’s how it’s supposed to work.

    I look forward to contributing.

Woah, hold on a minute, let’s not be hasty, for a share of $24.2bn I can be quite easily be persuaded that trees should have rights and welfare creates employment, but after my share out I insist we give up this sharing and you didn’t succeed on your own nonsense. Deal?

Mr. Obama says, ‘If you’ve got a business — you didn’t build that. Somebody else made that happen.’ Mr. Soros, it was me, me, John V and I'll accept a cheque or cash.

Hi Perianne. Do they do heavy posts here, or is it light hearted? I'm thinking the essay you read on modern liberals?

There is a combination of both. Like most forums, a short synopsis can lead someone to read further if they are interested. Your essay would fit just fine here (synopsis).

Also note that few members post after a certain time... around 10 p.m. I work nights, so I tend to be awake at nights.

John V ... welcome ! I'm a fellow Brit, though unlike you, the extent of my globetrotting has been to cross the border at the Severn Estuary and travel from London (my place of origin) to South Wales, where I now live.

I'm looking forward to your contributions. I suspect we may have certain areas of disagreement, but plenty also to agree on ... like you, I'm against liberalism and Marxism (and the Left generally).

One other Brit here is Noir, from Northern Ireland. I usually disagree with his viewpoints ....

    Best wishes to you !
It's That Bloody Foreigner Again !!!
