Default When the Culture War Comes for the Kids

Good article about how progressivism affects our children's education and decisions parents make

to be a parent is to be compromised. You pledge allegiance to justice for all, you swear that private attachments can rhyme with the public good, but when the choice comes down to your child or an abstraction—even the well-being of children you don’t know—you’ll betray your principles to the fierce unfairness of love. etween a brutal meritocracy and a radical new pressivism, a parent tries to do right by Caught between a brutal meritocracy and a radical new progressivism, a parent tries to do right by his children while navigating New York City’s schools.

I read this last week, lots of blogs were commenting on it. Poor man seems so blind to his own assumptions, like he's discovering the wheel over and over again.

He's right on most things, but it's painful how his awareness is like 'new born.'

I took it to be nonsense.

Parents allowing some left-wing radical govern their lives and those of a child?

Spare me. Those radicals need to crawl back under their rocks or woodpiles.

Do you mean like that little dumb shit from Austrailia who spoke at the UN?

Putting aside the fact that these people don't even have the science to back up their claims like they say they do, WHO teaches their children to be so snide and disrespectful to adults like that? I guess I'm a caveman or something because I don't allow my children to disrespect adults even if those adults are total idiots.

I read most of the article. It had a lot of interesting points, but lost me at the point where the child comes home upset about his white privilege.
I did enjoy reading about the survey that said only 8% of people asked in a poll see political correctness as ok. Apparently the ills of PCness is seen across all races and gender.

I had to go back and read that section, interestingly enough it also brought up how 'down' his children were about climate change. Parents decided that all these things: Trump's election; climate change; responsibility for slavery; racism and identities were just 'too much' for elementary school students to feel responsible for. Golly gee!

Pretty much an overload for young minds, in my humble opinion.

Dem/socialist/lib propaganda-- I have told my son to laugh at it and see it for the lying propaganda that it so obviously is.
Justin now at just 12 years old knows and sees more than a great many college educated grads do.
As they are taught so damn many lies that most of them are totally clueless about history, politics or their overlords that so deceive them.
Such vermin have so corrupted our culture as to make it a cancerous propaganda weapon to lead a great many of our youths far, far astray.
Leave then totally blinded. Sad, tragic and in truth it is engaging treason, because the endgame goal is to destroy our Constitutional Republic. A fact..-Try
