    Default Impeachment, day 3 updates

Yovanovitch. Already perjured herself. There have been no less than 5 start witnesses that have turned out to be lying or duds or nothing in their testimonies. Perhaps something to do with ever changing charges. And then others, make all kinds of accusations and what not - and turns out it's ALL hearsay. And of course, like Russia, emanates from one of the folks involved in both, and so heavily involved as a Dem. Nothing thus far, IMO. BUT admittedly nothing sounds good for Trump. But when you have such a one sided event, filled the them doing most of the talking, then it's why you of course only see that one side. That will be the opposite in the senate. It WILL go there, so be prepared. Such a shame for America if this is in fact another try like Russia.

Marie Yovanovitch Testifies in Impeachment Hearing

The House Intelligence Committee is holding its second public hearing of the impeachment inquiry into President Donald Trump on Friday.

Congressional investigators will hear testimony from Marie Yovanovitch, who was fired as the U.S. Ambassador to Ukraine in May 2019. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky previously conveyed to President Trump that he had lost confidence in Yovanovitch.

Democrat critics claim Yovanovitch was the victim of a “political hit job” lead by former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani, who, serving as President Trump’s personal lawyer, relayed negative media stories about her to the president.

Journalist John Solomon reported in March that Yovanovitch urged Ukrainian Prosecutor General Yuriy Letsenko not to prosecute the George Soros-backed Anti-Corruption Action Centre (AntAC). Last week, Fox News reported last week that the fired ambassador may have provided the House Intelligence panel with false information when testifying on October 11th that she ignored a request from a Democrat staff member of the House Foreign Affairs Committee. “However, emails obtained by Fox News’ Tucker Carlson Tonight showed that in fact, Yovanovitch had responded to Carey’s initial Aug. 14 email, writing that she “would love to reconnect and look forward to chatting with you,” the news outlet reported.

Yovanovitch’s full testimony was released publicly on November 5th.

Trump’s Call Transcript Debunks Claim from Marie Yovanovitch’s Private Deposition

A new transcript released Friday by President Donald Trump debunked speculation by former U.S. Ambassador to Ukraine Marie Yovanovitch in a closed-door deposition last month that Trump bad-mouthed her in his first call with newly-elected Ukrainian President Volodymy Zelensky.

House Intelligence Committee Committee Chairman Adam Schiff (D-CA) had asked Yovanovitch during that October 11 deposition if she knew whether Trump had brought her up in a prior conversation. She responded: “I don’t know. I had assumed it was the April 21st phone call, that first phone call, because that, to my knowledge, is the only time — other time that they talked,” she said.

Schiff asked her if the reason she did not receive a briefing, or readout, on the first call they had was because Trump may have been “bashing her.” She responded: “It’s possible.”

However, the White House released the full transcript of the first call, in April, between Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky on Friday. It showed that Yovanovitch never came up during the phone call.

Witness intimidation my ass, at least IMO.

This is typical Trump. Not nice, wince inducing ways he talks about others and to them. But talking about how bad they were, while that person is the center of attention? That's what he does. I don't see intimidation or threats or none of the sort. He simply trashed how she performed.

But Trump does himself no favors by giving them ANYTHING to use against him. It's obvious they will try anything. They are acting desperate about 2020 and their own future.

Schiff Asks Witness to Respond to Trump’s ‘Intimidating’ Tweets: He ‘Is Attacking You on Twitter’

House Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff (D-CA) asked Friday’s witness, former U.S. Ambassador to Ukraine Marie Yovanovitch, to respond to President Trump’s recent tweets during Friday’s public impeachment hearing, ultimately baiting her to describe the president’s purported tactics as “intimidating.”

“Ambassador Yovanovitch, as we sit here testifying the president is attacking you on Twitter, and I’d like to give you the chance to respond,” Schiff said during the hearing, reading off Trump’s recent tweets.

    Trump tweeted in part:

Everywhere Marie Yovanovitch went turned bad. She started off in Somalia, how did that go? Then fast forward to Ukraine, where the new Ukrainian President spoke unfavorably about her in my second phone call with him. It is a U.S. President’s absolute right to appoint ambassadors…..They call it “serving at the pleasure of the President.” The U.S. now has a very strong and powerful foreign policy, much different than proceeding administrations. It is called, quite simply, America First! With all of that, however, I have done FAR more for Ukraine than O.
“Would you like to respond to the president’s attack that everywhere you went turned bad?” Schiff asked.

“I actually think that where I’ve served over the years, I and others have demonstratively made things better for the U.S. and as well as for the countries that I’ve served in,” Yovanovitch stated.

“Ukraine, for example, where there are huge challenges including, you know on the issue that we’re discussing today of corruption, huge challenges,” she continued.

Schiff: We Saw Trump Engage in ‘Witness Intimidation in Real Time’

While speaking to reporters on Friday, House Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff (D-CA) stated that President Trump engaged in “witness intimidation in real time” with his statements about former U.S. ambassador to Ukraine Marie Yovanovitch and warned that such intimidation is taken “very seriously.”

Schiff said, “[W]e saw, today, witness intimidation in real time by the president of the United States, once again, going after this dedicated and respected career public servant in an effort to not only chill her, but to chill others who may come forward. We take this kind of witness intimidation and obstruction of the inquiry very seriously.”

Four Key Questions Bill Taylor Wasn’t Asked at House Dems’ Impeachment Hearing

Acting U.S. Ambassador to Ukraine Bill Taylor testified yesterday in the House Democrats’ first public hearing for their impeachment investigation about President Donald Trump and Ukraine.
Below are four key questions that lawmakers failed to ask Taylor during his public testimony.

1 – What was discussed when a staffer for Rep. Adam Schiff’s House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence met with Taylor on a visit to Ukraine less than two weeks after the so-called whistleblower filed his complaint? The Schiff staffer’s trip was sponsored by a Busirma-funded thinktank.

As Breitbart News reported, itinerary for a trip to Ukraine in August organized by the Atlantic Council think tank reveals that a staffer on Rep. Adam Schiff’s House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence held a meeting during the trip with Taylor, now a key witness for Democrats pursuing impeachment.

The Atlantic Council is funded by and works in partnership with Burisma, the natural gas company at the center of allegations regarding Joe Biden and his son, Hunter Biden.

Thomas Eager, a staffer on Schiff’s House Intelligence Committee, took a trip to Ukraine in August billed as a bipartisan “Ukraine Study Trip” in which ten Congressional staffers participated.

Eager is also currently a fellow at the Atlantic Council’s Eurasia Congressional Fellowship, a bipartisan program that says it “educates congressional staff on current events in the Eurasia region.” The pre-planned Ukraine trip was part of the fellowship program.

Burisma in January 2017 signed a “cooperative agreement” with the Council to specifically sponsor the organization’s Eurasia Center, the same center that sponsored Eager’s Ukraine trip.

    ....

2 – What interactions, if any, did Taylor have with Hunter Biden when the diplomat led an election observation delegation in Ukraine earlier this year for a George Soros-funded organization that at the time boasted Biden on its small chairman’s council?

Two months before he came out of retirement to serve as the highest-ranking U.S. official in Ukraine, Taylor led an election observer delegation to Ukraine’s April 21, 2019 second round presidential election for the National Democratic Institute (NDI) organization.

The delegation’s mission, according to NDI literature, was to “accurately and impartially assess various aspects of the election process, and to offer recommendations to support peaceful, credible elections and public confidence in the process.”

Taylor led the team along with former Director of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe’s Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (OSCE/ODIHR) Audrey Glover and former Minister for European Union Affairs Birgitta Ohlsson.

Hunter Biden at the time served on NDI’s ten person Chairman’s Council, which describes itself as bringing together “leaders from corporate, philanthropic, and academia sectors to provide expertise, counsel and resources to help the Institute meet these evolving challenges.”

    .....

3 – What is the full extent of Taylor’s relationship with the Burisma-funded Atlantic Council?

Breitbart News reported that Taylor has evidenced a close relationship with the Atlantic Council think tank, writing Ukraine policy pieces with the organization’s director and analysis articles published by the Council.

In March, three months before he became Trump’s ambassador to Ukraine, the Atlantic Council featured an oped co-authored by Taylor in which the diplomat argued Ukraine “has further to travel toward its self-proclaimed European goal” of reformation.

In 2017, Taylor wrote a piece for the Atlantic Council about a Ukrainian parliament vote on health care reform.

Last year, he participated in an online Atlantic Council Q & A on the Crimea.

In November 2011, the Atlantic Council hosted Taylor as the featured speaker at a discussion event when he was appointed that year as Special Coordinator for Middle East Transitions at the State Department.

In March 2014, Taylor co-authored an analysis piece at Foreign Policy magazine written together with John E. Herbst, a former U.S. ambassador to Ukraine who serves as director of the Eurasia Center for the Atlantic council – the same Eurasia Center that is specifically funded by Burisma.

    .....

4 – What is the full extent of Taylor’s relationship with David J. Kramer, a long-time adviser to late Senator John McCain? Kramer played a central role in disseminating the anti-Trump dossier to the news media and Obama administration.

Kramer is senior adviser to the USUBC, where Taylor also served as senior advisor for the last nine years.

Taylor participated in events and initiatives organized by Kramer.

Kramer also held a November 2011 event at the Atlantic Council’s D.C. offices for a group that he heads called Freedom House. Taylor was one of six featured speakers at Kramer’s event.

The Atlantic Council published what it deemed a 24-point plan for ending the conflict between Russia and Ukraine. In conjunction with the plan, Kramer, in his role as director of Freedom House, organized a letter by American and European experts and former officials urging Russia to end its conflict with Ukraine.

Signatories of the letter, published on the Burisma-funded Atlantic Council’s website, include Taylor, Kramer and the Atlantic Council’s Herbst.

Just like the folks demanding to get into their little private basement meetings, this was bound to happen when one side gets frustrated with a lack of truth and a lack of ability to defend. So frustrations boil over. The left won't allow for witnesses and won't allow for anything that may help in Trump's defense.

‘Holy Cow’: Adam Schiff Spars With Jim Jordan, Elise Stefanik At Second Impeachment Hearing

The second public impeachment hearing into President Donald Trump quickly devolved into a heated back and forth between House Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff and several Republican members.

After Ranking Member Devin Nunes completed his opening statement, Republican Ohio Rep. Jim Jordan and Republican New York Rep. Elise Stefanik attempted to interject with points of order, but they were swiftly rebuffed by Schiff.

“Will the chairman continue to prohibit witnesses from answering Republican questions as you’ve done in closed hearings and as you did?” Stefanik asked.

“That’s not a proper point of order. Gentlewoman will suspend,” Schiff replied.

After Jordan’s repeated attempts for a point of order were rebuffed, an exasperated Jordan mumbled: “holy cow.”

Friday marked the second day of public impeachment hearings related to Trump’s July phone call with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.

Right as the hearings began, Trump released his initial congratulatory phone call with Zelensky, which Schiff appeared to dismiss.

“While we’re grateful he released a single document, he has nonetheless obstructed witnesses in their testimony and production of thousands and thousands of other records,” the chairman stated.

Whether it legally is or isn't it looks bad. Optics matter and Trump continues to shoot himself in the foot. He needs to just STFU and let facts and details already in evidence speak for themselves.

Oh, I agree!! And he doesn't think about that stuff. WTF. Melania needs to drug him and destroy his cell, and repeat process whenever he starts typing too much with a new phone again! LOL

And yes, the facts are doing fine AS ARE those in congress defending him - so they don't need his help or words hurting their chances.

Yovanovitch is a dud - end the charade as Scalise states.

    ---

Scalise: Yovanovitch‘s Answer to These 2 Questions Is ‘Game Over; Time to End This Impeachment Charade’

House Republican Whip Rep. Steve Scalise (R-LA) tweeted video of an answer by former U.S. Ambassador to Ukraine Marie Yovanovitch at Friday’s House Intelligence Committee hearing which, he says, is “game over” for Democrats’ impeachment inquiry.

During the hearing, Rep. Chris Stewart (R-UT) asked Yovanovitch two questions, point-blank:

“Do you have any information regarding the president of the United States accepting any bribes?”

“Do you have any information regarding any criminal activity that the president of the United States has been involved with, at all?”

Both times, Yovanovitch answered in one word: “No.”

LIGHTS OUT: Watch a Defeated Yovanovitch Admit She Has No Knowledge of President Trump Accepting Bribes or Committing Crimes

Fired US Ambassador to Ukraine Marie Yovanovitch appeared on Capitol Hill Friday to publicly whine that she got canned by President Trump.

Yovanovitch, an Obama holdover, was fired in May of this year and she perjured herself in last month’s closed-door testimony.

Ambassador Yovanovitch was not on the July 25 Trump-Zelensky phone call, but she’s one of Schiff’s star witnesses.

After several hours of GOP lawmakers wearing her down with hard-hitting questions, a defeated Yovanovitch begrudgingly admitted that she had no information regarding Trump accepting bribes or committing crimes.

Congressman Chris Stewart (R-UT) asked Yovanovitch, “Do you have any information regarding the President of the United States accepting any bribes?”

    Yovanovitch replied, “No.”

Rep. Stewart asked her, “Do you have any information regarding any criminal activity that the president of the United States has been involved with at all?”

    Yovanovitch reluctantly replies, “No.”

It’s just torture for Yovanovitch to admit Trump has committed no crimes.
