The Left Freaks Out Over Study on Child Detentions...Which Happened During the Obama Administration

Liberals were outraged over reports that found the U.S. had the highest detention levels among children in the world. The reports stated that approximately 100,000 children were currently in immigration custody, which is in violation of international law. The “problem” as it was later discovered, however, was that the figures were from 2015, under the Obama administration.










Rather than issue a correction to the article, both Reuters and AFP completely withdrew the story, stating there would be no replacement. Other news outlets issued a correction or said an updated story was forthcoming.



"A Nov. 18 story headlined “U.S. has world’s highest rate of children in detention -U.N. study” is withdrawn," writes Reuters. "The United Nations issued a statement on Nov. 19 saying the number was not current but was for the year 2015. No replacement story will be issued."

Outlets Scramble To Retract After Realizing UN Report Cites Record Child Detention Under Obama Instead Of Trump

• Multiple outlets deleted entire stories Tuesday after reporting out a false number of children currently in migrant-related U.S. custody.
• The number is actually from 2015, when former President Barack Obama was in office.
• Some of the outlets issued corrections and updated the articles, while others such as Reuters and AFP deleted the article in its entirety and declined to post a new one.

Multiple outlets deleted entire stories Tuesday after falsely reporting the number of children in migrant-related U.S. custody.

Outlets including Reuters, Agence France-Presse (AFP), NPR and Aljazeera jumped on a report from the United Nations, writing Monday that the country has the world’s highest rate of detained children. The outlets reported that there are currently more than 100,000 children in immigration-related custody, which violates international law.

A day later, Reuters and AFP deleted their stories after the U.N. clarified the numbers were from 2015, when former President Barack Obama was in office. AFP did not immediately respond to a request for comment on why it no longer felt the numbers were newsworthy after being informed they were from 2015.

“Reuters decided to withdraw its story after the United Nations issued a statement on November 19 saying the number of children in detention was not current but was for the year 2015,” a Reuters spokesperson told the Daily Caller News Foundation.

The page where the article was featured has a retraction on Reuters. The outlet declined to comment on why the story was no longer deemed newsworthy.

Yup. And what sucks is that a lot of people sadly "rely" on the news media to bring them the news, the facts, the truth. Many will believe that just because it's on the news, it must be true. But more and more and more it's seeming to be exactly what you say, that these media folks are actually party members of the democrats. Look at the hypocrisy above. Look at the absolute disgust they will have for anything Trump does. Where is there any disgust for the many things wrongly done by the left? Not only no disgust about any actions, they won't even report on them!

It's not only that 98% of their propaganda wing is card carrying, donation sending DEMOCRATS, but the same is true in so many government agencies, the state department, the IRS, the NSA, etc, etc, and they are NOT above using their power to HELP the democrat party, and I'm talking CORRUPTION. They want control over EVERYTHING and EVERYONE. I'm serious as a heart attack when I say what they're doing reminds me EXACTLY of the way HITLER and GOEBBELS and the NAZIS acted. Actually Goebbels could probably LEARN a few things from the democrats and their propaganda wing. I think these people should be DESTROYED, same as the Nazis were.
