Maybe that's because they're too busy doing them over here ? It's fairly commonplace to see your actors doing our UK commercials (Bacon and Keitel have done quite a few more than I've posted ..).Originally Posted by hjmick

Interesting... Kevin Bacon is a conservative. I wonder how they got Britney to be in an ad with him? Is she a closet conservative?

Interesting, then, because even though the UK has had a Conservative Government in place since 2010, I think that many American Conservatives would struggle to identify it as one, in their terms (admittedly, one of those Governments had to be a coalition one, with our LibDems sharing power).
Our Conservatives avoid public discussion of religion, for example. Ours fully buy into the 'need' for an NHS. Ours (& David Cameron was strongly in favour of this) have introduced gay marriage into our society.

My thinking was the opposite -- I assumed that it'd be the typical 'Californian Hollywood Leftie' who'd be more likely to feel at home here.
