Default Need To Take My Truck In Today For Recall On The Recall...

Yep, believe it or not, I have to take my truck back for a recall on a prior recall. Evidently they couldn't get it right the first time.

Noncompliance Recall (N192268091): Brake System Malfunction Warning (Release Date 1/30/2020) - the first recall was #N192268090.

But it gets worse... they have a brand new, white, matches my truck, and Harley, 2020 ZL1 Camaro sitting in the showroom... and I have to go sit in it... not good...

I'll get some pics of it, and see if my salesman is around, get him to take a pic of me sitting in it. I mean a 650hp super Camaro... that's big time cool for an old gear head like me.

OH... I'll add this quick... was watching Motor Week yesterday and they said their all around pick for CAR OF THE YEAR is the 2020 MID ENGINE CORVETTE. They said, "and if you didn't see that coming," and went on to mention all the very cool things about it they like. One thing about it is, it only comes with the naturally aspirated 495hp 6.2, for now, but I'm SURE that now that it's a mid engine, they're going to have some FUN with it and a higher horse power engine is in the works. They'll surely do a supercharged engine like is in the ZL1 Camaro since the have all the parts for that, but I think now with the mid engine, they're going to get a little wild. I think we're going to see something extraordinary. I'm guessing they'll make a twin turbo, 900-1,000hp model or something like that. Just guessing though. That would take a drive train that can hold that kind of power too, and that might get expensive since existing parts probably aren't up to the task.

Took FOUR PEOPLE to drag me otta this thing... And yes, my brain is working overtime trying to figure out a way to OWN this thing. There's a couple ways I could do it, but, I don't find any of them appealing, #1, selling my big Matco triple bay tool chest full of tools. There's about $80K there and that would do it, but parting with my tools is just a horrifying idea to me. But truck, car and motorcycle, ALL WHITE, what a PERFECT trifecta...

I hear ya Abbey. But I do have a second double stack chest of tools... I have a LOT of tools. I wouldn't be completely without, but 95% of everything in the big Matco triple bay is Snapon, and that's about the best tools on the planet, and the most expensive. But as I get older, I do less and less wrenching so... IDK... might be kinda hard to find someone to come up with $70K to drop on them too, which is what I'd start out at. I might take $65K, but then all my torque wrenches are gone, my crows feet socket adapters, many, many specialty tools. I don't know how much I'll ever use some of those again though... so... the thought process is on.

    I WANT THAT CAR...

You have impulse issues, lol. What would you need more when the SHTF?

I think we should all live life as though we only have a few days left to live, within reason. There are no do overs, we don't get second chances to do things different. I believe that we should get the most out of life with what we're dealt. Take chances, step out on that limb, do things you might not otherwise do, push it, don't go to your grave thinking... gee, I wish I'd have done this or done that... JUST DO IT.

New twist on the story here... called my salesman and had a chat with him about my plans and he said... "if the Camaro sells, or even if it doesn't, you might prefer we just order you a new 2021 Corvette!" Well, that definitely puts a new spin on things. I've owned two Camaros already. Never owned a Vette but always wanted one. They list at $60K to start so we're talking the same money. I like the idea. Anyway you look at it though, I want another hotrod, and the new mid engine Corvette was named vehicle of the year by Motor Week, and would give me more time to get all the finances in order... but this old gear head is jumping out of his skin just thinking of the possibilities here... I'd be in HEAVEN... and there's only ONE color for a Vette, and that's RED...

Got my triple bay Matco tool chest for sale... $64,500... we'll see what happens. Big price tag but, there's people out there that have the cash.
