Default New Thread, A Few Prose Pieces I Still Have

    Reflections Laugh At Our Blindness

    She cool love's great fever
In with shades of true hope

    What slides with whisperings
From the quiet edge of dreams

    Therein she seeks to know
Secrets life has yet to reveal

    Truth deeper that beauty's shine
    Or sexy maiden's perfections

    That which holds wanton desires
    Or mysteries told around campfires

In her heart rests more love
    But to whom, nobody knows

    In Mother Nature's smooth pools.
    Reflections laugh at our blindness.

    Robert J. Lindley, prose written
in the very early 1970's When I was but 17 or 18 years old..

The Truth About The Real Comedy Of Life

Woe is me, my poor, aching feet do sing
A melody and blindness to ole blue moon
The fountain of youth sold only dry sand
    Remember General MacArthur did return
And could be true Atlas held up the world
A damn shame that snails win no races
No broken hearts do not climb mountains
And time is no friend to elephant fever
Caesar did not ride a old pale blue horse
And Rome delighted itself in its sad decay
Jesse James wrote no lying autobiography
And the Pope lost his wits and the Holy Seal
Poe eventually slayed and ate his nemesis
And Laurel and Hardy retired with vast wealth.

Concepts From The Thoughts Of The Old Beggar

    And well it seems
    That your horse rides well
In this sad world with me.

In the flicker of a light,
In a butterfly that is blind,
In the eye that dares listen,

    Stammers echoes
    Hides soft shadows and surrounds
    Aching sea and fallen tree.

    Hold the murmur
    Of hope and great loss
    Against a pale blue sky.

We are shreds of ancient ancestors
    Living in den of prisoners
    Asking truth to stay.

    For love never yields
    To dirty aces
    Or rotten tomatoes in Spring

    And his mind cried
    For life races
    Into a darken corner

    The grey night soft moans
    Worshipping a candle
    As heart deep sleeps.
