Time to unpack, review and repack bug out bag

Good thing I did this. If you've lost or put on weight it's a good time to update the clothing in your bag. Mine didn't fit ... and don't ask why!!!

I also changed out batteries and put in fresh protein bars.

Any other ideas?

Compact fishing pole, extra line and lures. Single hooks, too, so you can use worms / bugs for bait.

High quality compact cot - keeping you above the creepy crawlies in the desert.

Water storage container, canteen, etc.

Leatherman tool.

Basic tools - screwdrivers, pliers, needle nose pliers, crescent wrench, baling wire, black electrical tape (the best is 3M Super 88), a handful of high quality tie-wraps (the best ones have a metal tooth in the head, the cheap ones have a plastic tooth and are garbage), roll of high quality Duct Tape, etc.

A filet knife, a large hunting knife, and a high quality pocket knife (Gerber is a great manufacturer).

Gun cleaning kit suitable for your firearms.

Sewing kit, with normal, heavy and curved needles. High quality normal thread and heavy duty thread (think sewing jackets, tarps, leather, etc., along with light sewing and repairs.

Extra sunglasses and prescription glasses.

Magnifying glass.

Small socket set with ratchet.

12v air compressor for your vehicle.

Couple of cans of Fix-A-Flat.

5 gallons of water in your trunk.

Box of 1-gallon ziplock bags.

I have most of this but you gave me some new ideas. I was thinking if I needed to bug out on foot so didn't have air compressor for vehicle .... need sewing kit, flares, fix a flat, socket set, basic tool set (I do have duct tape and zip ties, no cot (hammock). I also have magnesium shavings for starting fire, wound seal, pain meds, reflux meds, sunblock for skin and lips, and ......... TP!

My vehicle has a 500+ range so I figured would drive until ran out of gas. I dont like gas cans inside but I guess I could strap on roof. I was thinking of getting storage box for roof but I don't think I could put on myself. Don't want it on there for just every day driving.
