Yeps, local urgent clinics and smaller ambulatory surgery centers & small facilities that may have them, may not have them much longer! Suckers are not cheap, so I hope they do make good records/receipts and at least pay these folks back somehow eventually.

I get that, but telling these hospitals don’t worry, you won’t suffer because I will pay you for the ventilators, is dishonest. No one can be kept breathing on cash.

I think it was Jim that we were discussing just that. IF no outbreak up north, he'll be a hero all around. IF there is, he is going to be blamed big time for taking from communities and hospitals that were set for their own communities. (Not that NYC could have prepared for this-it was a perfect storm situation. They could have done better though)

I know this isn’t a popular opinion but Governor Cuomo is a moron and I am being polite about it

Sorry, but he is. The only thing that is bigger than NYC in this state is Andrew Cuomo’s ego

Several years ago, instead approving funding for purchasing ventilators, he chose to build solar panels instead. He also limited the number of hospital beds under New York’s Certificate of Need laws

He should have quarantined NYC and the downstate in order to contain the spread of this disease to the Upstate.

Now he is going to the Upstate to forcibly confiscate ventilators

During good times, the Upstate was not worth the governor’s attention, but now it suddenly is. During the last election, he barely visited the Upstate and frequently turned down opportunities to debate issues. Why? Because he knew that the Downstate would re-elect him, so why bother with a bunch of red neck hayseeds from Upstate?

Governor Cuomo was asleep at the switch and now we are paying for it. Instead of banning plastic bags and releasing inmates from jail, he should have prepared for the possibility of this happening.

I know some of you live downstate, so my opinion may not be a popular one. But considering the dire economic situation that Upstate has been in for the past 30 years and Governor Cuomo’s refusal to do a thing about it, plus his refusal to protect the Upstate during this crisis, you might see why I feel as strongly as I do about him.
