    I agree with the article for the most part. It's nothing new. The Federal government has been drunk on power since the birth of the Nation, got worse after the Civil War, and has used any and every excuse since to tighten its control. The trickle down theory applies at all levels of government.

    Having a few Napoleons try to and/or successfully use an emergency situation to push their political agendas and amass more power this time is only larger in scope because of the size and scope of the emergency isn't surprising. That some act surprised by or as if it's something new is.
