I saw this old video of a rooftop performance by U2 on The Tonight Show this week. It brought back some fine memories for me. I worked in 30 Rock (60th floor) for 4 years, and on a nice day, we would eat our lunch on that roof. IIRC, the roof is about 68 stories up. It has a panoramic view of NYC, all the great buildings you know and love, the river, etc. It is magnificent, and the air up there really is different, in a nice way. This was before 9-11, so there were no restrictions. I understand that now there is security and a fee to go up. I'm so glad I got to enjoy it for free all those years.

The sunset view in the video was available from the cocktail lounge right below the roof. This view, for the price of a drink. I would go there with some coworkers/friends sometimes, too. Good times. Make sure you watch the video for the camera will pan the view.

If you like U2, the concert isn't bad, either.

Anyway, if you are ever in NYC, it is a stop worth making.

This is a YouTube video, so...
