So often the case is not adding new and updated information but ignoring previously questioned information and starting from scratch. Where is the flow of discussion if every discussion about a news story has to start from the beginning? At best sometimes is mere variation on a theme that's already been decided.
Clearly not everything posted here is a debate.
People are still debating when life begins and it pretty much goes back to already questioned information.
And when the universe was created. And what come first .. chicken or egg?
Just because there had been vigorous debate previously does not mean the original info isn't pertinent.
