Default Texas governon Greg Abbott tests positive for Covid-19

Oh dear. A man who believes masks are nonsense and vaccines are not necessary is shown the error of the ways. Though he likely will ignore such. ------------> https://www.dallasnews.com/news/poli...e-for-covid19/ ---------------------------> Monday’s was one of several recent public events at which neither the governor nor audience members wore face coverings. Late Tuesday, when asked if the governor might have contracted the virus at such maskless events, Eze referred a reporter to Miner’s statement. Speaking of Abbott, she added, “He tested negative yesterday.” Asked why Abbott would take the monoclonal antibody treatment made by Regeneron Pharmaceuticals if he has no symptoms, Eze said, “It is recommended that you begin Regeneron within 10 days of testing positive and before you start experiencing symptoms.”

Masks are nonsense. The cloth face coverings? I'm all for them. I don't have to look at ugly people nor smell their stinky breath, and they do stop people who like to hose you down when they speak from giving you a shower. Might even stop your basic, unsanitary germs.

Unless the mask is a kn-95 or better, it will not stop COVID. COVID molecules go right through cloth face coverings.

As far as the surge in covid here? quit blaming masks and immunizatios and blame your President who has Border Patrol agents giving rides to illegals right up I-35. Blame your fear-mongering MSM and fountain of misinformation social media.

If it makes you feel any better, I think Abbott's EO is no better than those trying to mandate immunizations. Government deciding what's best for people at the local level. Nobody calls the Governor or the President for a stomach virus outbreak. And who even knows what the crud is kids come from school with every year.

Maybe the left needs the government to think for them. Can't fathom that since it can't think for itself. I don't.

The governor is correct. Masks and vaccines will not stop the spread of COVID. As Gunny said above, masks are useless. As for the vaccine .. only benefit is that when you get COVID the symptoms are less severe.

And, BTW, the governor is vaccinated.

As Sassy said, the governor is vaccinated. And short of N95 masks, these masks everyone are wearing now do very little if anything at all overall.

I wonder if that means Gabby will vote for Don Huffines who's running against Governor Abbott. @NightTrain .... knows what I mean. (Hint .... She's the Little Old Lady from PASADENA [Texas])

    Steve Sisolak, governor of Nevada,
(Democrat) recently scolded citizens of his state. Why, only irresponsible behavior can account for a rise in "cases" there! So he's telling Nevadans that they have two weeks to get things under control. He warned, "I’m not going to come back in two weeks and say I’m going to give you another chance.”
And then, three days later, Governor Sisolak himself tested positive for COVID-19.
The governor was forced to admit: “You can take all the precautions that are possible and you can still contract the virus. I don’t know how I got it.”

Arne Starkey Duncan former United States Secretary of Education
Appointed by Obama. Believer in the trinity, Vax mask and lockdowns/distancing

    whole family got covid.

"How did we catch it? I don't know. We wore masks. We socially distanced. We avoided crowds. We haven't had people in our house."

Are we sure Governor Abbot has covid? Perhaps he is just showing empathy for all the covid positive illegal immigrants coming through Joe’s open southern border. Or maybe it it’s empathy for the Texas democrats in hiding that flew to DC without masks.

All rather amazing when top experts tell you that there is no such thing as an asymptomatic patient and therefore no evidence that such people can transmit .

The ex ex Vice President of R&D at Pfizer is on record as saying that it is a logical impossibility for an asymptomatic person to be a carrier . Let alone a transmitter .

Also , is Abbot so clueless that he does not know tests are meaningless and therefore bogus ?

Is he just virtue signalling to show the gullible world how careful , thoughtful and loving he is and therefore just the person most suitable for re-election ?

In Texas, there are THREE sides to this issue:
    1) Huffines - no restrictions whatsoever
    2) Abbott - only implement restrictions when there's a shortage of ICU beds
    3) Democrats - Restrict as much as you can get away with for as long as you can get away with.

Yeah. I'm getting more than kind of tired of the "stupid" running just ahead of the ignorant fear around here.

From all 3 sides. Huffines is the rightwingnut version of the leftwingnuts. That's one of Abbott's challengers for the GOP primary next year.

I wonder if everyone that thinks cloth face coverings stop covid also believe body armor stops bullets.
