    Default 45 million uninsured...

there have been several references to 45 million uninsured again in the last week, so I was inspired to do some research.....

    http://www.census.gov/prod/2007pubs/p60-233.pdf

on page 29 of the 2006 Census Bureau report on poverty you will find Table 6, which provides statistics on uninsured people in the US....

in 2006 there were 46,995,000 uninsured people in the US....

36 million of them were in families, 11 million were single

21 million of them were Caucasion, 15 million were Hispanic, 7 million were black, 2 million were Asian

    8 million were under 18, 8 million were 18-24, 10 million were 25-34, 8 million 35-44, 10 million were 45-64

34 million were native born Americans, 2 million naturalized citizens, 10 million were not citizens (that number is up by 1 million from 2005)

39 million live in metropolitan areas, 7 million live in rural areas

9 million have income higher than $75k a year, another 8 million have incomes higher than $50k a year, 15 million earn between $25k and $50k, 14 million under $25k.

22 million worked full time, 6 million worked part time, 10 million did not work (this number may include married women who did not work outside the home)

10 million illegals without health insurance is NOT our problem. Deport them, and the health insurance "crisis" is 22% smaller.

Now if the facts were to reflect my status it would be nice.
A chance for a new beginning, like a dawn of reconciliation.
