Pelosi Won’t Say if She Will Run for Reelection in 2022

Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) on Sunday’s broadcast of CNN’s “State of the Union” laughed off a question about whether she would run for reelection in 2022.

Pelosi, who is 81-years old, said she would consult with her family on whether she would run again for her congressional seat, which she has held since 1987.

Recently Pelosi has refused to answer reporters’ questions on both her future in Congress and if she would seek the Speaker’s position again if Democrats win the majority in the 2022 midterm elections.

Anchor Jake Tapper asked, “I do want to ask about your own future in Congress. Are you going to run for reelection?”

Pelosi said, “Oh, you think I’m going to make an announcement right here and now?”

Tapper said, “Yeah. Why not?

While laughing, Pelosi said, “I want to be on many more times.”

Tapper said, “You’re going to run for reelection, though, yes?”

Pelosi asked, “Why would I tell you that now?”

Tapper said, “It’s not just me, it’s the American people, the world. This is an international show.”

Pelosi said, “Probably, I would have that conversation with my family first if you don’t mind.”

Tapper said, “Thank you so much. Best of luck with the legislation. I know it’s a heavy lift.”

She's one of those people that can choke and die for all I care. Her only good attribute is she is "the devil we know". I suspect one of the whack jobs is looking to fill her shoes. Moderate Dems won't have much say if Progressives bully their way to the top like they have been doing the past few years.

Sources from the White House said House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) was kicked out of a meeting by her own party.
On Thursday, an anonymous Democrat staffer reported Pelosi said she was “leaving anyway” after Rep. Pramila Jayapal (D-Wash.) kicked her out of a Progressive Caucus meeting. Pelosi’s Deputy Chief of Staff Drew Hammill claimed she entered and quickly left the confidential meeting to drop a letter off.
This comes amid Pelosi’s efforts to persuade progressives to sign off on the bipartisan infrastructure bill.


House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) also took aim at Pelosi for the Democrats’ mixed messaging in Congress. McCarthy asserted Pelosi has “destroyed this institution and its ability to function.”
He went on to add he no longer believes Democrats like Pelosi have the will to keep the House in 2022. McCarthy noted while it appears Democrats have different priorities, Republicans will be ready to put America back on the field and turn the country around in order to build a nation that Americans can be proud of.
In the meantime, the bipartisan infrastructure bill must pass the House before it reaches Joe Biden’s desk.
