Between the heat and water restrictions, it's killing my yard. Such that it is. Seems to be doing the same to snowbirds, millennials and Gen-Z-ers as well.
I get to use all kinds of "old sayings" here too
"If you can't stand the heat ... stay out of the kitchen. And Texas". We had a little "cool spell" past two days where it got down to highs around 98, but we're going back over 100 today. We've hit 100 more often than not since about mid-May, which is not standard issue weather.
Yes, the doom-n-gloom, end of the World climate change alarmists are wailing and gnashing teeth. Couldn't pass up an opportunity like a heat wave to claim they are right and predict the end
ERCOT has everyone prepared to dash off to the mall on a moment's notice if we lose power. Why are we losing power HERE in TX? Because some of our coal, oil and gas infrastructure required to produce electricity has been shut down. Wonder how THAT happened?
Here's some reality: if you cannot sit outside under a tree until your power comes back on in 100+ degree weather, don't come here. I don't live in Alaska for a reason. I'd be bundled up in so much crap I couldn't move while Alaskans were running around in tee shirts. If you require AC to survive, this is NOT your place to live.
The doomsayers are also predicting August will be worse. I can only assume people are going to start dropping dead if we have any real grid failure.
