Default China declares 8 countermeasures against the US and slaps sanctions against Pelosi

Not that I don't trust the US media

Oh, and to answer a question someone asked in another thread: Taiwan has NEVER been part of the PRC.

Taiwan has been part of a lot of countries, to include Imperial China.

It's splitting hairs that it has never belonged to the PRC, but hairs are real, to the tune of millions of people in an autonomous country.

The last military force to take Taiwan by force is called the United States Marine Corps. So they can f- off and die as far as my "unbiased" opinion is concerned.

Saipan gave the US air bases close enough for B-29s to strike Japan's home islands.

I get your frustration. NPR sucks. But I am not all that excited about Pedo Peter leading us into conflict.

If there was going to be an actual conflict, it would already be happening. China's not ready. They will make their move when they are regardless who is President of the US.

I have to ask - why did Pelosi go to Taiwan? She's allowed to go, of course, but what good was ever going to come of it? No good could ever come of it, of course, and there was a high risk that bad could come of it. And of all times to provoke China, don't do it when jelly-spine Joe Biden is President!

Now we have China encircling Taiwan with military units and firing weapons in all directions. Are you happy, Nancy? Are you somehow going to get some insider trading out of this, Nancy?

Here's a suggestion. We tell China "instead of your military encircling Taiwan and firing off weapons, here's Nancy Pelosi's address, feel free to send as many assets as you want to encircle her house and they can fire off as many weapons as they want. Even experimental weapons. Knock yourself out."

End result - China gets to blow off some steam and look tough, Taiwan remains safe and keeps making semiconductor chips, and if something unexpected happens at Nancy Pelosi's address - oh well, we're never going to run short of corrupt politicians.

There was no reason. Of course, Pelosi, among others, would have you believe it symbolic to have the Speaker of the House show up. Nothing her going to Taiwan may have helped, if anything at all, was worth what it has cost. Fact is, there's no reason to taunt China if we are not prepared to go the whole hog. This could have caused a shooting war that Biden is in no way prepared to handle.

Nancy arranged this on her own. That's how she should have been left to handle it. I wouldn't miss her.

To reinforce her ties with chip manufacturers. Oh, sorry. So her son could reassure his business associates.
