Basically they're saying those who are not vaccinated are protected same as vaccinated. We were called conspiracy theorists for saying that since day one. Oh no, they said ... you must get vaccinated to be protected.CDC officials told reporters the new guidelines are an acknowledgement that most of the population has some form of protection from the virus, either from prior infection or from vaccination, and are unlikely to become seriously ill.

It doesn't really say that. It's an acknowledgement that the covid of today is not the covid of yesterday for various reasons. The outcomes of vaccinated vs not were wildly different a year ago than today. And considering 2/3 of the country chose to get vaccinated decries just "natural immunity." 4/5 have some level of vaccination.
