He was spot on. They should stop with the way they handle quarterbacks and have them take their dresses off and play like the rest of the team. It's simply a phrase meaning they are being treated as if they were women.

Stupid he had to apologize but the network and/or NFL probably made that decision.

It's about money. Back in the day (), when the QB was part of the team, he took the same beating everyone else did. The QB was the "driver", but winning the game was not predominately up to him.

Case in point and what many don't remember: The year the Dolphins went undefeated the star QB Bob Griese was out most of the regular season. Earl Morrall led the team. All he really had to do was not f- up. Same with the 70s Steelers. They could have Hanratty, Bradshaw of Gilliam doing all kinds of stupid crap but you weren't scoring on the Steel Curtain.

The game evolved to fast, more pass-oriented game, and the rule changes have been to support that faster game. It's more exciting to fans and gives more of a chance to the behind team to make a comeback. For that you need a more skilled QB and owners paid more for them. When the more skilled QB like Joe Namath is constantly on the sidelines he's not helping. Owners moved to protect their investments.

I won't even watch football anymore and I definitely would not be able to play by today's rules.

I'm for putting an asterisk by Tom Brady's name (). He's a crybaby about getting hit and he's been protected his whole career.

I feel the same way about the receivers too. Those rules were also changed to speed up the game and make it more exciting. Fake grass. Domed stadiums. WTF
