LET’S DECLARE A PANDEMIC AMNESTY
We need to forgive one another for what we did and said when we were in the dark about COVID.

In April 2020, with nothing else to do, my family took an enormous number of hikes. We all wore cloth masks that I had made myself. We had a family hand signal, which the person in the front would use if someone was approaching on the trail and we needed to put on our masks. Once, when another child got too close to my then-4-year-old son on a bridge, he yelled at her “SOCIAL DISTANCING!”

These precautions were totally misguided. In April 2020, no one got the coronavirus from passing someone else hiking. Outdoor transmission was vanishingly rare. Our cloth masks made out of old bandanas wouldn’t have done anything, anyway. But the thing is: We didn’t know.....

I've got words for this, but no time to write them all down.
short version, sorry, but you and your side in authority and high places in the media did a LOT MORE than be annoying. Huge uncounted amounts of real harm was caused.
Plus there was enough info so you didn't have to be ignorant.
The mentality you and other pushed was similar to a lynch mob. And there's yet to be honest apologies, confessions, or real compensation.

Not to mention not being allowed in the delivery room while your child is being delivered. My grandson and his wife had to make hard choices in 2021. One person allowed in delivery room. She wanted her hubby and her mother but had to choose. My grandson stayed and now her mother is broken hearted and they are not on good terms. Things like this are not easily forgiven and will never be forgotten.

I didn't get to say goodbye to loved ones who died alone and terrified. I didn't get to comfort scared family members who I will never see again and I will NOT be forgetting or forgiving for this one.

I don't need amnesty for not acting like a fool. If there is such a thing as "pandemic amnesty" as described above, there are plenty of people on BOTH sides of the argument who need to get in line. Rabid vaxxers and rabid anti-vaxxers sound the same from MY porch.

So antivaxxers had vaxxed people:
fired from jobs,
refused to allow the vaxxed into stores,
Blocked them from public transportation,
Blocked them from public venues,
Refused them medical attention,
barred them schools and universities,
refused them travel out side of the country,
put the vaxxed in quarantine,
Kept vaxxed people away from their elderly or dying loved ones
made the vaxxed wear things on their faces or suffer various penalties
Made people who were vaxxed stay away from Churches & ran them out of parks & off beaches
Told them to STAY HOME until we say so.

Made people NOT get experimental vaccines issued by federal, state, local or corporate policy?
under threat of various penalties & sanctions?
