    Default For what it's worth

    Dear Jonathan,

No one does more to serve freedom’s cause than those in the U.S. military. And there’s no time like the holidays to make sure these brave volunteers receive the recognition they deserve.

And to acknowledge their tremendous sacrifice, NRA is now providing free-of-charge NRA memberships to our nation’s active-duty service personnel.

If you have a loved one or friend now serving on active duty who might like to receive a free membership, with full benefits, please invite them to visit our special website at NRA.org/ActiveDuty and sign up.

There’s NO CHARGE to you and NO CHARGE to those who receive your gift. These are FREE memberships with no strings attached – aimed at saying thanks to our service personnel at this special time of year.

But please understand, we have a limited number of these memberships available and this site may shut down from time to time until we replenish the funds needed for this effort.

As a retiree, I am offended and feel discriminated against

I used to be a NRA member. Back in the days of endless junk mail in the mail box. One of my biggest issues with them is they will not leave said mail box alone. Incessant junk mail panhandling for extra donations for some life-or-death matter somewhere. I paid my dues to add my number to the list of supporters, but stop creeping on a Cpl's paycheck. There's not much there.

I also have an issue with the NRA being like our choices for President. Not specifically the NRA's fault, but it is part of the problem. Choices are total gun ban vs "I have the right to a carry a SAW strapped to my back". There's no common sense, middle ground anywhere. If you aren't supporting one, you are supporting the other by default, and that's how the numbers crunchers sell it.

Besides, all my guns fell out of the boat in the lake fishing with Sassy

    Truth!

If the freedom of speech is taken away
then dumb and silent we may be led,
    like sheep to the slaughter.

No military here but am an NRA member along with my wife. And yes, as Gunny said, inundated with spam and more requests. Then they do the same with their awesome letters in the mail weekly or bi-weekly looking for another avenue to my wallet.

Same thing that Trump and Gop did to me. Still getting requests for more money to Trump and every other known candidate in the free world!

Need I say more?” - Chris Rock
