I believe every society will find themselves in this situation occasionally. They seem to adapt by innovating and/or population adjustments by moving or through some type of birth control. War and famine work as well.

Malthus was wrong. I'm not sure what you're talking about; overpopulation is not China's problem.

China is only over 3500 years old. Not really seeing it going anywhere. Especially if its demise is dependent on US involvement.
