Default National sales tax plan could spark discussion, but unlikely to advance

I am at this point against anything that gives the Federal government more money to blow on itself. For anything this has to offer, it just takes from the People/States and gives to that clusterf*ck in DC.

Not to mention, as I have often pointed out, $1 here is 3 cents in NY. Just another way to force successful states to pay for the losers that are lossers by their own, blue hands.

I thought the national sales tax would replace income tax completely.

    That's the idea.

The FairTax was designed to be revenue neutral and eliminate all other Federal taxes, including SS, etc.

Sure. But who controls the pot of a Federal "Fair Tax Act"? The Federal government. Cutting out the states.

Then when the Feds start jacking its Federal flat tax to pay for their BS -- the Feds being our so-called elected officials in DC doing the spending -- then what exactly stands between the people and that taxation? Nothing.

If I had to choose between more socialism and secession from a sinking ship, not hard to guess which way I'd vote.

Not sure I understand. The government will control it whether it's a tiered system we now have or a flat tax.

Businesses will still collect it and send to the government. They will send to federal, state, county and city their portion.

Which is all the same as it is today.

Theoretically, a State can say no. The Feds want to cut out the State and rob us directly. Like everything else with our government, once implemented there will be no going back.

The possibilities of "what's next?" given the US Federal government's track record is scarier than Freddy Krueger.

This proposal in one step closer to rendering States nothing but points on a driving map.
