    Default Unbreakable Bound

    Unbreakable Bound

    The heart it is breaking
    how I feel this-
    unbreakable bound

    The tiny room
    where Napoleon yielded
    his life and honor-

    Far behind
    the purple curtain
    as tourists gawk

    And pale tidings
    rub the gambit
    of hero's death

    As the field asked
    who, who won
    midnight's hour struck

    Time smiled and said
    no more, no more
    sun has died

    And you and I
    crouched so low
    ask ounce of shade.

    A pound of flesh
    with no remorse
    hangman's true delight

    The heart it is breaking
    how I feel this-
    unbreakable bound.

    Robert J. Lindley,
    April 22nd 1972, age 18

Note: One look and Heaven gave its answer.
Walk in the light and ask no more...
