Love Carlin, his take is great.
But I think he's limited the scope of the problem and left out aspects of the system itself that allows the worse to prevail.
What he mentions as the public being crappy so the politicians are crap too. All he's saying is what he founders said.
People are selfish scumbags who can see moral high ground but don't live there.
so what they did was say "So Let's create a VERY LIMITED govt.. Where there's Separations of Powers and the informed & armed public can keep them in check out of their best interest."

This understanding of human beings is the old "western" concept... the Christian POV of humanity, that people are sinners. Not angels.

One of my Freelance clients sent me this,
a few young guys outlining the reality of U.S. politics & a bit of history.
How it's the people and corrupted system that generally only allows scum to rise.

    it's long but hey.
    it's here if anyones interested

It is proper to take alarm at the first experiment on our liberties. The freeman of America did not wait till usurped power had strengthened itself by exercise, and entangled the question in precedents. James Madison
Live as free people, yet without employing your freedom as a pretext for wickedness; but live at all times as servants of God.
