What point are you trying to make? That Islamic militants in Syria could have shady pasts? That's rather obvious for what it is. At no point has anyone on the board nominated them to be the next Pope and/or otherwise role models. In international geopolitics having once been a bad guy is irrelevant to now unless one is being a problem that forces the fat cat bureaucrats to have to get off their asses and DO something.

Since al-Jolani is currently running the show in Syria and making promises for deals, which is easier than dealing with terrorist-loving murderers, give him some rope. If he is insincere, it'll show soon enough.

Nobody said anything about liking the guy. I don't like our last 4 Presidents and I don't like the one coming up. But it's what we're stuck with. You deal with what you got, not what you want.

I'm having a hard time going from your "poor, pitiful Palestinian terrorists who look a LOT like that guy in the picture" posts in one thread, to your "they're terrorists" in this one. You contradict yourself.

The opportunity to at least try and get one of these countries past their tribal/religious mindsets where it's okay to murder for whatever and/or the weirdest reasons doesn't come along every day. Look how long Hamas and Hezbollah have been doing the same stupid thing resulting in the same devastation. They've had enough time to build prosperous Nations rather than live in the photos you posted in the other thread.
