okay - Gabby's done her usual drive-by-flame-post...let's get back to discussing Speakers!
“… the greatest detractor from high performance is fear: fear that you are not prepared, fear that you are in over your head, fear that you are not worthy, and ultimately, fear of failure. If you can eliminate that fear—not through arrogance or just wishing difficulties away, but through hard work and preparation—you will put yourself in an incredibly powerful position to take on the challenges you face" - Pete Carroll.

I don't have a big enough room to pull them that far out. Anyway, in the Infinity book that came with the speakers, a "foot from the wall, or more" was their recommendation. My listening position is about ten feet away. The new Pioneer receiver I bought, the VSX-1017TXV has auto tune up. I didn't like it. It adjusted the base to the point where the speakers sounded like a transistor radio. I had to redo it manually. I am able to save four different custom set ups in it though, and it also has EQ OFF, ALL CHANNEL DIRECT and FRONT ALIGN. I like my own set up the best.
