Wow not too far from where I used to live.

But 5.6 isn't generally considered a major quake. Now, I remember the "World Series" quake! First time in my life, I ducked under a desk during a quake.

Send it south, we're about due.

On Fox Channel news at 10:00, channel 105.2 HD, I get Bay Area news. I'll have to watch it and see what they say.

AAAHH... and here it is... happened on the Calaveras vault, epicenter just east of Alum Rock. Last quake on that fault was 1986. Strike slip quake, lasted about fifteen seconds, violent shakes, minimal damage, after shocks happening now, most 2.0 or less.

    Didn't feel anything here.

Minor quakes are good news for CA, as they relieve the pent-up stresses. Going a long period with no quake is bad news. I hope everyone came through it and little or no property damage was done.

Surveying property lines over there must be a hoot!

5.6 is PLENTY big if it's shallow enough.
“… the greatest detractor from high performance is fear: fear that you are not prepared, fear that you are in over your head, fear that you are not worthy, and ultimately, fear of failure. If you can eliminate that fear—not through arrogance or just wishing difficulties away, but through hard work and preparation—you will put yourself in an incredibly powerful position to take on the challenges you face" - Pete Carroll.
