My gun failed me duck-hunting yesterday...but at the range it works pretty good. Still need lots of practice.

I traded my P.38 pistol + $100 to my uncle for that shotgun. I paid $200 for the pistol (from him, years ago) so I think I did okay.

And yeah, very pretty, IMO, although it's likely as old as I am.

    You a gun-guy, Manu?

Just do what most pretend hunters do...... feed the ducks daily until they come to the same place each day then take the shotgun and massacre them. Be sure to illegally use lead shot so that the pellets that don't destroy the ducks end up on the bottom of the lake so that bottom feeders like Green Winged Teal or Ruddys can injest them and die a very slow and painful death from lead poisoning. Forget that it would actually take some skill to hit a duck traveling at 45 miles an hour using steel shot, shoot them on the water as they feed, then you can show all your friends what a badass you are by holding the carcasses by the neck and telling them how great they'll taste when in reality they taste awful and only someone that would eat their own waste would want to eat that dark slimy meat.

Shoot a turkey with a bow after stalking them for a day and I'll show some respect but sitting in a blind getting drunk and shooting 50 dollars worth of ammo to try to hit a duck that tastes like shit is a joke and quite pathetic.
I understand the reasoning behind hunting and don't have a problem with real hunters. I have the problem with the assholes that have to show off what they killed by hanging the carcass across the hood of their car. Or the idiots I saw in Colorado that had their uncovered elk carcass sitting on top of an open trailer with it's blood dripping on the horses they used for the "hunt". These people are jerks and are indefensible and there are more of them than there are real hunters.... a lot more. I tend to laugh when one or more of these nimrods get lost and freeze to death while looking for a trophy kill..... natural selection as they would say. These fools are too ignorant to realize that their stupidity ruins the meat that they spent a fortune to"harvast".

Here is someone that calls herself a hunter.......... this pig should have been gored by an elk. Be sure and watch the film, you get an idea what type of people are running around(waddling) the forest with high powered rifles.

Minn. Woman Shoots Albino Deer During Opener
(WCCO) On this season's deer opener, a Minnesota woman shot one of the rarest kinds around; an albino deer. Mary Rakotz of Avon got the 6-point buck on Saturday in Mille Lacs County.

She said it was thrilling to see the rare animal, but 100 times more exciting to be able to actually take it home.

"I had heard that it might be in the area, so I thought that here was my chance of a lifetime. So I had to creep a little bit, probably about 40 yards, to get a good place where I could steady myself a little bit. But then I did that and shot and it went right down," said Rakotz.

Rakotz said she isn't sure if she has room to mount the buck, so she's contacted Cabella's to see if they're interested in buying it.

    What a disgusting jerk.

Oh, by the way, I took care of and watched as a beautiful Green Winged Teal that was alive one day cruising around my bathtub, woke me up writhing in pain in the middle of the night before he died from poisoning....... our vet did an autopsy and found 5 lead pellets in his craw..... stopped liking duck hunters after that.
No matter where I've traveled or how great the trip was, it's always wonderful to return to my country, The United States of America......... me

    okay then! Sure!

    wow.

    [edit]

Thinking about this - I feel very uneasy looking at hunting forums and seeing people posting proudly with their kill. Honestly I think it's a little disrespectful to the animal to be paraded like that.

re: duck hunting in general - in my state, hunting is the primary tool of wildlife managers to ensure healthy animal populations. And if you think duck meat is nasty, you've never had peking Duck at our local Chinese place.

Why would I want to shoot anybody? That's extreme. OCA is a friend.
