On the base I work at just six miles up the road, it -48 below....Couldn't get a picture of that one...
But my dang car was struggling to start, even with it plugged in...
Also my water pipes are frozen as of this afternoon.... ..Trying to thaw them out now..

Of course I've been saying that every winter now.........for 13yrs...

Didn't freeze...My son and I tried this at -45 below...Of course we used hot water for the vapor experiment....The next time its -40 to -50 below, I'll try cold water and throw it up in air and see if it turns into ice cubes.....It probably would.....
We've warmed up since Monday....right now we're at -3..Whoo hoo..

On average up here in Northern Alaska, winter temps for this time of yr range from 0 to -30 below...With a few weeks off and on of -40 to -50 below...



BUT:
Saw -63 below once for about a week.....:eek2:
