Mr. P. I'd hold out for the Benedictines.

benedictine (benudik'tēn) [key], sweet liqueur originated in 1510 by Benedictine monks at Fécamp, France, and now manufactured by a secular concern on the grounds of the old abbey. Every bottle bears the initials of the Latin dedication Deo Optimo Maximo [to God most good, most great]. The exact formula of benedictine remains a secret.

P, what kind of stuff are you interested in going after? What "turns your crank?" Give me some idea of what general direction you'd like to go in, and I'll try to come up with some possibilities.

I turn 60 this month. Can't even get a security company to call me back when I put in an application. Since my open heart surgery a few years ago I am kinda limited in what I can physically do. so been looking into security jobs that just require sitting there and being bored. with low pay. No dice there, even though I never mention the surgery.

I'm waiting it out right now as I am eligible for a VA pension due to the heart problem. But that will be another 4 or 5 months before it begins.

If I had a dime for every time I was told I was over qualified I would be rich now and not having to work or way on a pension.
Yes. Overqualified. That's the biggest bullshit thing going. For some things, your better off leaving everything but "can wash self" off the resume. Just this year I worked at the mall for a while, when I applied I said I only had a high school degree, even though i went to "The Harvard of the South" as they call it.

    I just don’t know what I wanna be when I grow-up.

But seriously, I think at this point it’s a matter of blending interests and skills into a self employment thing. I’m working on it. That’s not so hard to do, the funding is a bit more difficult though.

I have a buddy of mine that lives in Russellville, Arkansas. Big fan of the Babylon 5 television show.

And a damned fine technical mind to boot.

And a wicked sense of humor when it comes to sticking it to "the corporate man."

I'm a big B5 fan too. Its the only TV show I have watched in the last 20 years.
When I die I'm sure to go to heaven, cause I spent my time in hell.
