Fact is though, the Luftwaffe had the RAF in its knees. Enter Mr Brilliance Adolph. Let's quit bombing airfields and bomb London instead. Great move. Glad he was never on my damned team. He allowed the RAF to rebuild its air force by ignoring them. And Whe they came out with the Supermarine Spitfire it was a done deal. I'd have hated to fly around in a damned Hawker Hurricane.
It's said the P-51 Mustang was the best fighter in that time period but it was a piece of crap with that Allison engine. The Brits married it with a Rolls Royce and it was game over.
