...should have just went with the spray bottle that left it powder-coat white and I would have been done in 10 minutes.
Electrolysis causes most corrosion...just the motion of traveling
through the water, especially salt or brackish water.

Have you thought about mounting some zinc's on the hull and
outdrive? That will cut down on corrosive effects.
