If Last Poet Sent Last Verse Out To Fly
If last poet sent last verse out to fly
would man vanish into swallowing sky.
Or would Nature then act as it renews
with new birth to paint earth in rainbow hues.
If man lost this art in his great errors
wading into abyss of woeful blight.
Would life reek of agony and terrors
compounded by wicked pains in dark of night.
If last poet saw pen and muse perish
could Nature and earth stand the massive void.
In this life, poets gift us words to cherish,
sweet fruits in which many are overjoyed.
If last poet, failed mankind in despair
Could mother earth and Nature then repair?
