Koreans are mutts. They are neither Chinese nor Japanese. They're both. Mix in Post WWII American GI's. North and South have always been divided since ancient times due to that clash of cultures.
One of the biggest mistakes FDR made in WWII was insisting the Russians open a second front in Korea. He created N and S Korea. The Russians had no interest in being involved. Political pressure got them involved. Look at the price we've paid.
