    Exactly.

But my second point is that he's wrong on what Christ has asked him to do. Whether on purpose or by honest misintepretation. Of course this thrilled the ACLU, no doubt.

I think I agreed with your entire statement.

I'm sure some could debate the point on what Christ has asked him to do. I don't know that I could do it though.

For it is by Grace you have been saved, through faith -- and this not of yourselves, it is the gift of God -- not by works, so that no one can boast. Eph 2:8-9

Christ gave him the talent to make it into, and graduate from, West Point. He did that for a reason, and I'm sure that wasting the resources of the US of A and tickling the fancy of ACLU lawyers were not it.

The man could have been destined to be a great leader in a pivotal future conflict.

Or now he may be destined to be a great leader of... the anti-war movement? Just food for thought.

To paraphrase Tom Tancredo (i think) "I have more reason to believe these conversions on the road to Damascus, not on the road to Baghdad"

As the anti-war movement often leads to the deaths of millions of innocents it is doubtful that this would be Christ's wishes. Examples of this are the near extinction of the Jews during WW2 due to allied delayed involvement and the deaths of 3 million Vitenamese when the US pulled out of Vietnam.
