Yeah, I'm about 10 minutes east of downtown Syracuse. We played at Turning Stone Casino, which is near Utica. I was doing well through the first hour, then tried to bully someone out and got my ass handed to me.

We have a tournament about once a month at a friend's house. $10 buy in. I've won once and taken second a couple of times.

It was fun...I watched other people most of the time.
I came upon a Blackjack table with one woman playing one night. A bunch of men surrounding the table, security as it turns out. I watch her play one chip at a time and couldn't figure out what the big deal was...I finally realized that one chip (from a tall stack she had, all the same) was a $5000. chip! She played em like they were candy!

Eeek. Cards aren't for me.. Slots work just fine - they can keep the rest of that crap.

    Pretty amazing shit.

One myth I had disproved is that the casinos want slot players to lose. They actually want you to win, and make a big deal of it when you do. Winning big jackpots draws in more people. A big win encourages everyone in the general vicinity.
You are describing blackjack, in hold em at the casinos a good player will always come out ahead because there is alwaya a gaggle of suckers ready to jump into a 1-2 no limit game and they wear their tells on their sleeves like a new bright shiny tattoo.

Its always been my edxperience that the blackjack games are rigged, i'm always getting 1 upped by the casino, thats why I quit that game and went to hold em where I can make Johnny from Tuscaloosa have to make a decision on whether he wants to play that jack ten offsuit for 300 dollars all in.

Did I tell you I love hold em?

Let me guess you got overagressive out of position and got caught with your hand in the cookie jar by someone with pocket kk or rockets and that was all she wrote.

For the last 3 months and continuing till march the local optimist club here is having a hold em tournament, oct. thru march are qualifiers and the final is in april, 70 dollar buy in. Didn't play in Oct. finished 36th out of 200 in Nov. and last month......fugghedabout it. Its about 45 minutes into the night and i'm on the big blind holding a 3-5 offsuit, it gets called around to me so I knock and say lets see the flop, flop comes 2-4-6 and i', like "sweet! the nuts! The guy next to me bets, I just call and this chick calls, the turn comes another 6, this guy bets a thousand and I raise him up to 3,000 and the chick calls, the flop comes ANOTHER 6! And i'm like "fuck!" I'm thinking one of these people is holding a 6, the guy checks and I say screw it "all in" but I had put the chick on A-6, the chick hems and haws for a few minutes which tells me she didn't have the 6, finally she calls my all in and LO AND FUCKING BEHOLD SHE THROWS UP POCKET JJ! I pulled my best Phil Hellmuth and said "how in the hell did you not raise on the turn(I would've went all in), you had the overpair on the board and I know you didn't put me on that straight".....................got up and walked the hell away steaming.

Sometimes people who have no clue what they are doing(if they did you would've taken the pot) suck out and take it all.

Casinos love slot machines. They don't take breaks and they're never sick. A slot machine is basically the perfect employee. Also, slot machines are the VERY worst gamble in the house. If you want to lose a bunch of money fast, play a slot machine. The best gambling odds in a casino are those where you have some control over the game, which are most all the card games.
