    Default Shower

Has anyone ever taken apart one of the newer shower heads to take out whatever it is the manufacturer's have added to reduce water flow (per gov't rules)?

I assume it is some sort of governor. I'm not sure it is possible, or if the part will work at all after messing with it.

If all you do is disassemble the showerhead, remove the device (which will be/look like a rubber washer), and reassemble it, it should work fine.

Open the shower-head up...remove the piece. It's usually a little screen-thing with rubber around the end.

Now - Neither ME nor DebatePolicy.com advocated going around gov't rules - but you simply want to "TEST" your shower head to insure the device is working or not working...that's how I'd do it.

If you can eliminate that fear—not through arrogance or just wishing difficulties away, but through hard work and preparation—you will put yourself in an incredibly powerful position to take on the challenges you face" - Pete Carroll.

Yeah, that's it. I'm going to test the water.

I'd punch that out with a punch.

I know so little about this stuff, but I was wondering if there could be a bad seal after removing it...

I've got to confess something - I had no idea shower heads had those bits installed until I saw this thread.

It looks great, but doesn't it also have the water flow reducer/governor part?

They were the ruination of a good strong shower. Damn conservationists!
Next thing you know they'll be forcing us to use compact flourescent lightbulbs.

Most shower heads and faucets have those in them, they are like filters and they get clogged up. But in your own house you can do with them as you please. The faucet police won't bother you. They don't have the manpower as there has not been a war declared on faucet tampering by the government. It's kinda like those warnings on matresses. Don't remove under penalty of law. My ex-waife actually believed I was going to be arrested for tearing that off when I got the matress home.

The dems only have control of the congress so there's no worry at this time.
When I die I'm sure to go to heaven, cause I spent my time in hell.
