Default Grand Canyon observation deck reaches dizzying heights

I'm not sure I could go out on it??? And I'm not normally afraid of heights...

A whole new way of scaring yourself stupid opened above the Grand Canyon in Arizona yesterday.

It's called a Skywalk and a million visitors a year are expected to tread its glass walkway, look down three-quarters of a mile, and feel like they've stepped off the edge of the world.

The horseshoe-shaped observation deck extends 70ft beyond land and there are no reassuring supports below.

"A nation can survive its fools, and even the ambitious. But it cannot survive treason from within. An enemy at the gates is less formidable, for he is known and carries his banner openly. But the traitor moves amongst those within the gate freely, his sly whispers rustling through all the alleys, heard in the very halls of government itself."
    Tullius Cicero (106-43 BC)

If you don't go out on the deck, you let the terrorists win.

I've been at 41,000 feet for hours on end but I'd NEVER walk out on that!!

I can't stand next to the edge of a tall building either.

I wouldn't care for that either. I don't even like riding in glass elevators.
When I die I'm sure to go to heaven, cause I spent my time in hell.

You get more with a kind word and a two by four, than you do with just a kind word.
