Second, he has never been anywhere near "the center". His whole life he was molded himself after the most radical left wing kooks he could find in Chicago like Wright and Ayers. He has never demonstrated the ability to reach out to the other side, except of course during his campaign when he gropes for the middle by claiming he has all these conservative policies like cutting taxes.

No matter what the president's background is, once he is in office he invariably governs from the center. Richard Nixon and George W. Bush are two examples of conservatives who implemented liberal policies once in office (e.g., Nixon opening the door to relations with China and Bush outspending any Democratic administration).

Look at Bill Clinton. After the GOP Congress smacked him repeatedly starting in '94, he behaved like a frickin' Republican for the balance of his term.

Reagan was something of an exception to this rule, but even he was forced to make concessions to the Democratic Congress in order to gain approval for his military budgets.

If thats true, then after another four years of Cart---excuse me, Obama, will bring about another conservative revolution that will trample liberalism for another 12-20 years. It seems like every few decades America has to be reminded how bad liberal foreign and domestic policy is by experiencing it.
