    Default Steel Cage

DMP wrote: Wrong - when a thread is closed it means "Enough...STFU already." Starting NEW threads to continue a closed discussion is a violation of board policy.
Where does it say that? It seems the owner of this site wants to promote free speech....or is this more of I'm not biased? In fact I thought the owner made it quite clear that this is what the Steel Cage is for.

This is directed at no one in particular, whether individuals, or libs or
cons. If you feel the need to get something off your chest, go to the steel
cage section. Please don't sideswipe good threads by committing endless
attacks on one another. Please try to stay on topic as best as possible.
Sarcasm will always rear it's face, but the low blow personal attacks are
    going a bit far lately.

I have asked mods to monitor the situation. Anyone being disruptive in this
manner consistently will receive a warning via PM. Should they continue
being disruptive, they will be given a 24hr timeout.

There's a time and place for everything. Debate in appropriate threads, and
place your attacks in the steel cage if you feel you must.

    Thanks!

    Board Guidelines
    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I was hoping to have this community as 'rules free' but I think it's best to
at least have some basic guidelines for members to adhere to.

Freedom of Speech - This has been, and always will be, the main vision of
mine for the community. All points of view are tolerated here, and liberals
and conservatives are equally welcome. Members will never be punished in any
way because of their political affiliation.

Copyright Infringement - When posting something as fact, it's always best to
supply a link to your source if possible. While we encourage the use of
linking to sources, please refrain from posting articles in their entirety.
The first paragraph or 2 would be fine with a link to the rest of the
article. This is acceptable under the fair use doctrine but copying of
entire articles will likely result in copyright infringement, and your post
may be removed and/or edited to protect the community.

Flaming - While in heated debates, we understand that it can become
emotional and sometimes we let that get the better of us. The board will
tolerate such outbursts to a degree. So long as it doesn't get out of hand,
and become a habitual occurrence, it will be tolerated. If this is abused,
the member will be issued a warning via PM and asked to refrain from further
    abuse.

** I expect Staff to be held to a higher standard as they set the tone of
our community. As I am asking them to take the high road and refrain from
engaging members in 'flaming', members are asked to refrain from 'flaming'
Staff. If you have an issue with board decisions, or a particular member of
Staff, please PM an Admin. There will be very little tolerance for members
that go out of their way to engage Staff in a manner unbecoming to the
    community. **

Spamming - Anyone who joins the board solely to place a link and advertise
will be banned permanently and their offending post deleted.

I think these rules are very minimal in nature and shouldn't prevent anyone
from enjoying their time at DebatePolicy.com

While we reserve the right to adjust the rules accordingly, we will strive
to remain a very loose and tolerant community. These rules are not being
implemented to limit users actions but rather to enhance everyone's
    experience here.

Psst - you quoted EXACTLY where it 'says' it. It 'says' it RIGHT here:

If you have MORE questions about board policy, or generally want to rant about the staff, PM one of the admins.

    Enjoy!
“… the greatest detractor from high performance is fear: fear that you are not prepared, fear that you are in over your head, fear that you are not worthy, and ultimately, fear of failure. If you can eliminate that fear—not through arrogance or just wishing difficulties away, but through hard work and preparation—you will put yourself in an incredibly powerful position to take on the challenges you face" - Pete Carroll.
