As for a scholarship- we be tryin. She's ranked 19th out of about 360, but it's tough out there in scholarship land. Maybe we should just check "Native American" on her application for aid, and if challenegd, we'll say we misunderstood the meaning.

Pale, save up $1000 as fast as you can as an emergency fund (negating most of the credit card needs), then pay off all of your debts from smallest to largest, making only minimum payments on all but the one you're currently paying off. When you pay off a debt completely, everything you were paying on that debt each month can now be applied to the next debt, and the payments on that one can later be applied to the next debt on the list, making what is called a 'debt snowball.' When that's done, cut up the cards and save up about 3-6 months worth of expenses as an emergency fund, thus completely negating the need for an 'emergency' credit card.
