Blessed be Your name, when the sun's shining down on me, when the world's "all as it should be," blessed be Your name!
Blessed be Your name on the road marked with suffering, though there's pain in the offering, blessed be Your name!
Every blessing You pour out I'll turn back to praise. When the darkness closes in, Lord, still I will say...
Blessed be the name of the Lord!
Blessed be Your name!
Sorry Nienna,I did ask for her recipe.
SHe said they just throw it in with the beans in a crockpot and season to taste with garlic and several other spices. Not to much of a recipe,I know.
Well I'll say, my pea soup recipe is sorta similar:
Ham bone or some cubed ham
Package of split peas
carrots
onlons
celery
potatoes
Soak beans for many hours or overnight. Get rid of those that look cruddy. Rinse.
Put 6 C. water to boil, add beans, some onions-quarters, carrots, celery stalks. Return to boil, then simmer for a long time (maybe 3-5 hours). Get rid of veggies other than peas and water. Throw in food processor. Whirl away. Put back in stock pot. Add diced onions, celery, carrots. Bring back to boil and simmer for another couple hours-add ham bone at this point if using. Then pick of ham, if using ham bone.
Add chopped carrots, onions, celery, chopped potatoes, chopped ham if not using ham bone and meat. Simmer for another hour or so. Adjust salt, pepper.
Serve with plenty of oyster crackers, garlic croutons or garlic bread.
sounds good... when's dinner?
