Met my wife in law school on orientation day. She had hair down to her legs then and at one point in the library the sun shone through her hair and she looked amazing. And 8 yrs younger than me! She was walking past me a few hours later and I stopped talking to a guy I had met and introduced myself. She thought I was boring and I thought she was boring after a few minutes of conversation. Luckily, she liked the guy I was talking to and I got to hang around. Within a week we were seeing each other. We've been married since 1993.
Not too strange, I guess, but I'm glad I can be a forward S.O.B. sometimes.
The specific set of foolish ideas that has laid claim to the name 'supply side economics' is a crank doctrine that would have little influence if it did not appeal to the prejudices of editors and wealthy men" -- Paul Krugman

I met my wife the first time, when she was 11. I was dating her older sister's best friend. I met her again when she was 17, at our nephew's Bday party (her sister eventually married my brother).
“… the greatest detractor from high performance is fear: fear that you are not prepared, fear that you are in over your head, fear that you are not worthy, and ultimately, fear of failure. If you can eliminate that fear—not through arrogance or just wishing difficulties away, but through hard work and preparation—you will put yourself in an incredibly powerful position to take on the challenges you face" - Pete Carroll.
I met my wife in my native town overseas. She's now gone.

She learned about the machismo of russian men and that she doesn't need to be subject to it. She freed herself and has moved on with her life. Poor lemon is still caged up in his own mind and beliefs. He still thinks women should be subservient to men. It's the culture that's ingrained in him.
When I die I'm sure to go to heaven, cause I spent my time in hell.
You get more with a kind word and a two by four, than you do with just a kind word.
I met a girl once during studying for a final in my senior year of college. I had to fulfill a science requirement so I took an astronomy course in my final semester. It was a freshman level course and pure regurgitation for the final (at keast you learned stuff in the labs). My buddy and I studied in our dorm for half an hour and then got bored. We went to a bar, bought a pticher of Guiness, and broke out our notebooks to study. Other students were kinda dumbstruck by our study habits, but we met many girls that night, including one I dated for a short time.
I got an A- for the class.

Supposedly this story is true.
My mom met my dad when they were both 17 and he jumped into backseat of a car through the window while running from the police and landed right in my mom's lap.
Everyone swears this shit really happened, who knows. But it's a funny story.
BTW they've been married for 42 years.
This thread popped up.
Anyone with a story to add?
