Yes, many many many factors go into building a good profile. Always cracks me up when people say that profiling is racist, all you have to do is point out that when the FBI is building a profile on a serial killer they start with a white dude in his mid 20s. Fan of Michael Connelly books.
Books go into so much more depth than TV shows. And are usually researched much better and therefore more factual in the methodology used.
