Default Is It Time To Consider The Obama Administration As A Criminal Institution?

Interesting article, considering Tapascott isn't really right nor left. Too many, imo, throw around 'impeachment and treason' but if Congress and the Press do their jobs, wrongs will be righted and the people will make sure it happens.

We've had bad/criminal administrations before, impeachment isn't usually the best answer. It would have been necessary for Nixon, but the whole push with Clinton's scandal heavy White House ended up making him look persecuted for the wrong reasons.

There needs real controls put on DOJ, HHS, IRS, CIA, NSA, EPA...

    http://washingtonexaminer.com/is-it-...rticle/2551825

See a tree with 20 apples hanging on it and reasonable people conclude it's an apple tree. So is it a criminal conspiracy when 20 government employees illegally destroy important official emails?
If that seems like an extreme question, consider the steadily accumulating evidence about the Obama administration's modus operandi with potentially incriminating documents subpoenaed byCongress: A scandal erupts. Congressional hearings are held. Documents are requested and withheld. Subpoenas are issued. Contempt charges threatened. A few documents dribble out.
Then come the admissions that, oh by the way, emails required by multiple federal laws to be preserved have either been destroyed or "lost."
Over and over and over ...
The latest example comes from the Department of Health and Human Services, which admitted Wednesday that hundreds of Obamacare emails subpoenaed in 2013 by the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform were destroyed months ago.

This jaw-dropping admission sparked outrage from the committee's chairman, Rep. Darrell Issa:
"Today’s news that a senior HHS executive destroyed emails relevant to a congressional investigation means that the Obama administration has lost or destroyed emails for more than 20 witnesses, and in each case, the loss wasn’t disclosed to the National Archives or Congress for months or years, in violation of federal law.
"It defies logic that so many senior administration officials were found to have ignored federal record-keeping requirements only after Congress asked to see their emails ...
"Yet again, we discover that this administration will not be forthright with the American people unless cornered."
IRS, EPA, HHS. How many more?
And it's not just emails. As Christopher Horner wrote earlier this week in the Washington Examiner, Environmental Protection Agency officials routinely destroy official text messages, contrary to law. And let's not forget those fake EPA email names like "Richard Windsor."
And there's this: 47 inspectors-general told Congress in a letter this week that their investigations are often obstructed, delayed or otherwise impeded by top agency officials.
It became abundantly clear several years ago that the Obama administration was waging a campaign of massive resistance to legitimate congressional oversight.
That campaign — and a parallel one against aggressive journalism — has made an utter mockery of Obama's opening-day promise of the "most transparent administration in history."
So what is it these people are so desperate to cover up?

Yes, it is well beyond that time. The Committee for Justice published a list of 25 law violations, some of which are quite interesting to review, and which doesn't actually appear to be an exhaustive list and it isn't dated, so it may be old enough to be missing some of the more recent "activity" of the administration: https://www.committeeforjustice.org/...administration

    1. Obama Administration uses IRS to target conservative, Christian and pro-Israel organizations, donors, and citizens.

    2. In an unprecedented attack on the First Amendment, the Obama Justice Department ordered criminal investigations of FOX News reporters for doing their jobs during the 2012 election year.

    3. President Obama, throughout his Presidency, has refused to enforce long-established U.S. immigration laws. For example . . .
      • More than 300,000 captured illegal aliens had been processed and were awaiting deportation. But, incredibly, Obama stopped these deportations and ordered the U.S. border patrol to release many of these illegal aliens in violation of law and without explanation.
      • Congress rejected Obama's so called DREAM ACT – which would have granted permanent residency to many illegal aliens. So Obama enacted his own version of the DREAM ACT by Executive Order, thus directly defying Congress. According to Obama's Executive Order, illegal aliens can stay in America if they are under the age of 30, have been in America for at least five years, are enrolled in school or have graduated from high school, and have committed no felonies.

    4. Obama has refused to build a double-barrier security fence along the U.S.-Mexican border in direct violation of the 2006 Secure Fence Act. This law requires that "at least two layers of reinforced fencing" be built along America's 650-mile border with Mexico. So far, just 40 miles of this fence have been built – most of it during the Bush Administration.

    5. Obama's unconstitutional assault on your Second Amendment Right to Keep and Bear Arms.

President Obama issued, in one day, 21 separate Executive Orders that attack and undermine your Second Amendment right to keep and bear arms.
Especially egregious is President Obama's Executive Orders amending the ObamaCare law to allow doctors and hospitals to investigate which patients own a gun. This outrageous Executive Order could allow the federal government to track and monitor law-abiding gun owners simply because they sought medical care.

    6. Obama's assault on Christians and religious freedom.
Obama's Health and Human Services Department has, on its own (without Congressional approval), issued a mandate that all health insurance plans must include coverage for abortion-inducing drugs. As a result, pro-life employers and taxpayers are now effectively required by law to pay for abortions.
This mandate is an unconstitutional attack on the protections for freedom of religion and freedom of conscience in the First Amendment and the 1993 Religious Freedom Restoration Act. This mandate also directly violates the ObamaCare law enacted by Congress, which prohibits any and all taxpayer funds from being used to pay for abortions.

    7. Obama forced ObamaCare on an unwilling public through bribery and lying about its cost.
Obama managed to secure passage of ObamaCare by one vote in the Senate by bribing senators. He bribed Senator Ben Nelson of Nebraska with the notorious "Cornhusker Kickback." He bribed Senator Mary Landrieu with the infamous $300 million "Louisiana Purchase."
In addition, Obama knowingly and blatantly lied to America and to Congress about how much ObamaCare would really cost. The cost of ObamaCare to the American people over the next 10 years will not be less than $1 TRILLION, as Obama promised in his nationally televised speech to the nation. Instead, the real cost of ObamaCare to the Federal Treasury is $2.4 TRILLION, according to the non-partisan Congressional Budget Office.
But the true cost of ObamaCare is more like $10 TRILLION when you factor in the cost to the states, the cost to individual Americans who are now required to purchase Obama-approved health plans (the "Individual Mandate"), the cost of exploding health insurance premiums, the $716 billion ObamaCare steals from Medicare, and the increased cost to businesses of complying with ObamaCare mandates.

    8. Operation Fast & Furious.
"Operation Fast & Furious" was the Obama Administration's gun-running scheme that put thousands of American-made semi-automatic weapons in the hands of Mexican drug cartels and resulted in the death of at least one U.S. Border Patrol Agent, Brian Terry. Obama's Attorney General Eric Holder lied to Congress and the public, claiming he didn't know about his Justice Department's Fast & Furious operation.
Congress has now held Holder in contempt for defying congressional subpoenas and refusing to turn over thousands of Justice Department documents on Fast & Furious. President Obama asserted Executive Privilege to try to protect Holder. But for Executive Privilege to apply, Obama would have had to have known about Fast & Furious, making the President as culpable as Holder.
Investigators suspect that Fast & Furious was an effort by the Obama Administration to discredit lawful gun ownership in America by purposefully creating gun crimes, thus inducing public outcry for gun control. When it put thousands of semi-automatic weapons in the hands of Mexican drug cartels, the Obama Justice Department knew these guns would be used to commit crimes, perhaps even kill some Americans. Then Obama could say: "See how dangerous these guns are. We must ban them."

    9. "Federal Communications Commission (FCC): Regulated the Internet despite a court order from the Circuit Court of Appeals for Washington, D.C. stating that the FCC does not have the power to regulate the Internet." (SOURCE: Report from Nine State Attorneys General)

    10. "Environmental Protection Agency (EPA): Imposed Cross-State Air Pollution Rules on the state of Texas at the last minute and without an opportunity for Texas to respond to the proposed regulation. EPA overreach was based on a dubious claim that air pollution from Texas affected a single air-quality monitor in Granite City, Illinois more than 500 miles and three states away from Texas." (SOURCE: Report from Nine State Attorneys General)

    11. "Department of Justice (DOJ): Rejected state voter ID statutes that are similar to those already approved by the Supreme Court of the United States. DOJ ignored section 8 of the Voting Rights Act which calls for protections against voter fraud, and used section 5 to administratively block measures to protect the integrity of elections passed by state legislatures." (SOURCE: Report from Nine State Attorneys General)

    12. "DOJ: In violation of 10th Amendment, sued to prevent Arizona from using reasonable measures to discourage illegal immigration within its borders. Arizona has a large number of illegal immigrants, compared to other states, and needs to be able to act to reduce the number." (SOURCE: Report from Nine State Attorneys General)

    13. "DOJ: Went to court to stop enforcement of Alabama's immigration reform laws, which require collection of the immigration status of public school students, require businesses to use E-Verify, and prohibit illegal immigrants from receiving public benefits." (SOURCE: Report from Nine State Attorneys General)

    14. "White House: Made "recess appointments" to the National Labor Relations Board and Consumer Financial Protection Bureau when Congress was NOT in recess. The Obama Administration has ignored the ruling by the D.C. Circuit Court of Appeals that the appointments are unconstitutional." (SOURCE: Report from Nine State Attorneys General)

    15. "Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC): Interfered with a Michigan church's selection of its own ministers by trying to force the church to reinstate a minister who was discharged for her disagreement with the religious doctrine of the church." (SOURCE: Report from Nine State Attorneys General)

    16. "Department of Energy (DOE): In 2009, the Obama Administration arbitrarily broke federal law, violated various contracts, and derailed the most studied energy project in American history at Yucca Mountain by denying it a license, thus costing the American people more than $31 billion." (SOURCE: Report from Nine State Attorneys General)

    17. Department of the Interior (DOI): Forced Glendale, a family-oriented town in Arizona, to become another Las Vegas against its will by granting "reservation status" to a 54-acre plot in the town, where the Tohono O'odham Indian Nation plans to build a resort and casino." (SOURCE: Report from Nine State Attorneys General)

    18. Without Congressional approval, Obama gutted the work requirement for welfare recipients passed by Congress and signed into law by President Bill Clinton.

    19. In the bailout of General Motors and Chrysler, Obama illegally shortchanged bond holders in favor of Labor Unions, despite U.S. bankruptcy laws that specify that bond holders be first in line to be paid back.

    20. Eager to use the killing of Osama bin Laden for political gain, Obama exposed the identity and method of operation of the Navy SEALs team that conducted the operation in Pakistan, thus exposing its members to a lifetime of risk because they have been targeted for assassination by Islamists. A short time after Obama exposed the Navy SEALs' method of operation, 22 SEALs were shot down and killed in Afghanistan. It is a violation of law for the President or any American to reveal classified military secrets.

    21. President Obama established an extra-constitutional top secret "kill list" of people (including Americans) who can be summarily killed on sight – presumably by drones -- without due process. Once on Obama's kill list, an American citizen can be targeted and executed on the opinion of a single government bureaucrat. That's not how our legal system is supposed to work.

    22. Obama Administration officials twisted the arms of defense contractors to not issue layoff notices in October of 2012 so as to avoid causing bad news for Obama right before the election — even though federal law (the "WARN Act") requires such notices. ; Not only is this a violation of the WARN Act, it's also an unlawful use of federal officials for campaign purposes.

    23. President Obama intervened militarily in Libya in 2011 without the Congressional approval required by the War Powers Act.

    24. Obama knowingly lied to Congress and the American people about the killing of U.S. Ambassador Chris Stevens and three other Americans in Benghazi, Libya. The President and his representatives repeatedly said an anti-Islamic video sparked a spontaneous uprising in Libya that resulted in the killings even though Obama knew that the attack was a well-planned military-style assault by al Qaeda on the anniversary of September 11.

    25. Michelle Obama's family trip to Africa in June of 2011, including a private safari at a South African game reserve, cost American taxpayers $424,000 for air travel alone. Mrs. Obama brought along both her makeup artist and hairstylist, as well as her mother, a niece and nephew, and her daughters, who were listed as "senior staff members."
    Great minds think for themselves

Many are true or at least reasonably claimed, however many of the abuses are legal in basis; therein lies the problem.

    1. Obama Administration uses IRS to target conservative, Christian and pro-Israel organizations, donors, and citizens. True
    2. In an unprecedented attack on the First Amendment, the Obama Justice Department ordered criminal investigations of FOX News reporters for doing their jobs during the 2012 election year. True
    3. President Obama, throughout his Presidency, has refused to enforce long-established U.S. immigration laws. For example . . .True
True, but neither the mandate nor funding is available. Look to Congress regarding this.
    5. Obama's unconstitutional assault on your Second Amendment Right to Keep and Bear Arms.

True, but obviously hasn't changed much. Indeed thanks to SCOTUS 2nd amendment is more enforceable than in decades
    6. Obama's assault on Christians and religious freedom.Obamacare, not HHS on their own, did what is claimed. Blame the GOP for not getting their act together. OTOH, again SCOTUS has made decisions that are undermining Obamacare's mandates so far.
There really is no reason to go there, when the facts what has transpired is clear. When it comes to Obamacare, the right was seriously outmaneuvered and did nothing to fix it.
Again, true, but it was Congress that chose not to follow up and why was that? No answers to that question. Why even at this date, with low presidential approval ratings, has it not materialized on their radar?

When it put thousands of semi-automatic weapons in the hands of Mexican drug cartels, the Obama Justice Department knew these guns would be used to commit crimes, perhaps even kill some Americans. Then Obama could say: "See how dangerous these guns are. We must ban them." See above. This question, this site if 'far right' why they are not in sync with Issa and others of GOP is anyone's question to answer.
    10. "Federal Communications Commission (FCC): Regulated the Internet despite a court order from the Circuit Court of Appeals for Washington, D.C. stating that the FCC does not have the power to regulate the Internet." (SOURCE: Report from Nine State Attorneys General) Was that FCC or NSA?
    11. "Environmental Protection Agency (EPA): Imposed Cross-State Air Pollution Rules on the state of Texas at the last minute and without an opportunity for Texas to respond to the proposed regulation. EPA overreach was based on a dubious claim that air pollution from Texas affected a single air-quality monitor in Granite City, Illinois more than 500 miles and three states away from Texas." (SOURCE: Report from Nine State Attorneys General) OK, assuming this more state issue has broader impact, connect Obama to it. The fact that many executive departments have overreached their intended grasp, why is it not laid at Congress' feet, with regulatory controls?
    12. "Department of Justice (DOJ): Rejected state voter ID statutes that are similar to those already approved by the Supreme Court of the United States. DOJ ignored section 8 of the Voting Rights Act which calls for protections against voter fraud, and used section 5 to administratively block measures to protect the integrity of elections passed by state legislatures." (SOURCE: Report from Nine State Attorneys General) This started with Obama? Hardly. That the DOJ has acted out of control? No, but the degree to which? Yes, that is new. Then again, SCOTUS has responded more for the states than was assumed regarding voter id.
    13. "DOJ: In violation of 10th Amendment, sued to prevent Arizona from using reasonable measures to discourage illegal immigration within its borders. Arizona has a large number of illegal immigrants, compared to other states, and needs to be able to act to reduce the number." (SOURCE: Report from Nine State Attorneys General) The assumption that the 10th was violated is an assumption on the part of the site. I'm not disagreeing, but the assumption is just that. I can say first hand that AZ is very demanding in proving citizenship. While I've a temp driver's license, it takes 8-10 weeks to get a permanent one. I can't substitute teach until I have that.
    14. "DOJ: Went to court to stop enforcement of Alabama's immigration reform laws, which require collection of the immigration status of public school students, require businesses to use E-Verify, and prohibit illegal immigrants from receiving public benefits." (SOURCE: Report from Nine State Attorneys General) Assuming DOJ thought what they were persuing was the law, waiting for courts, no?
    15. "White House: Made "recess appointments" to the National Labor Relations Board and Consumer Financial Protection Bureau when Congress was NOT in recess. The Obama Administration has ignored the ruling by the D.C. Circuit Court of Appeals that the appointments are unconstitutional." (SOURCE: Report from Nine State Attorneys General) Not first or last to do so. Not the first nor last to get slapped by courts either. Where is Congress?
    16. "Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC): Interfered with a Michigan church's selection of its own ministers by trying to force the church to reinstate a minister who was discharged for her disagreement with the religious doctrine of the church." (SOURCE: Report from Nine State Attorneys General) Ok, what happened? Not exactly a national issue. The executive branch is national right?
    17. "Department of Energy (DOE): In 2009, the Obama Administration arbitrarily broke federal law, violated various contracts, and derailed the most studied energy project in American history at Yucca Mountain by denying it a license, thus costing the American people more than $31 billion." (SOURCE: Report from Nine State Attorneys General) The further down the list we go, the more 'out there' the charges become. I do not like Obama, in fact I've moved towards thinking he may have to resign or be impeached down the road, but it's this type of craziness that makes me think there's larger problems here. Truth is, throwing tons of shit against the wall, waiting to see what sticks, is an exercise in desperation. This is an example of executive branch and legislative fighting it out.
    18. Department of the Interior (DOI): Forced Glendale, a family-oriented town in Arizona, to become another Las Vegas against its will by granting "reservation status" to a 54-acre plot in the town, where the Tohono O'odham Indian Nation plans to build a resort and casino." (SOURCE: Report from Nine State Attorneys General) Personal much?
    19. Without Congressional approval, Obama gutted the work requirement for welfare recipients passed by Congress and signed into law by President Bill Clinton. This was brought to which court?
    20. In the bailout of General Motors and Chrysler, Obama illegally shortchanged bond holders in favor of Labor Unions, despite U.S. bankruptcy laws that specify that bond holders be first in line to be paid back. Ok, and the SCOTUS found what? I'm not saying I agree, but sour grapes anyone?
    21. Again I agree that what transpired was wrong, but it's not close to impeachment level, indeed well covered for presidential powers.
    22. Again, accusation without backup.
    23. And a court found what?
    24. President Obama intervened militarily in Libya in 2011 without the Congressional approval required by the War Powers Act. First president to do so? No, didn't think so.
    25. No proof. Not saying again that I agree with the idea, just as much as we 'know,' there's no proof.
    26. Michelle Obama's family trip to Africa in June of 2011, including a private safari at a South African game reserve, cost American taxpayers $424,000 for air travel alone. Mrs. Obama brought along both her makeup artist and hairstylist, as well as her mother, a niece and nephew, and her daughters, who were listed as "senior staff members." and again, so what?

So basically there's a very, very short list of provable issues, that might make it into impeachment charges. Is that the way to go? I don't like it.

Truth is, all presidents face issues that may make them skirt the lines, most often in best interests of country. With the threat of impeachment at every turn, they may become more problematic in future.

Let the built in checks and balances work, force Congress to do so.

That's the problem - the Check & Balance system isn't working and Obama is doing whatever he feels like doing, even if it's illegal.

I'm hoping that will change this year after the Senate changes hands. Dirty Harry has been protecting Obama by keeping the Senate sidelined when they should be acting to stop the illegal actions and policies of this administration and federal agencies.

The only place to lay blame is with Congress. If Obama is hoping for the role of dictator, the answer to that is with Congress.

The States need more power and the fed needs less (as the founders intended). Truth be known, States can take better care of their own than the feds EVER thought to do...........and the RIGHT way. As for impeachment.............there's no way we could successfully do that with the leadership we've had for the past 10 years with one side overwhelming the other. So, and again, this is where the STATES need more power to do something such as call for impeachment (IF) proper grounds are met. I realize that the founders made the supreme court a life-long seat that is not an elected seat but we need to be able to elect such offices as DOJ..................that's is a powerful position and with scum like B.O. simply appointing scum such as Holder, it definitely isn't working. An officer of the court/law, should be another one to say; HEY! B.O. just went against the law of the land (The Constitution)!!!!! That's just my take on things anyway.

Agreed, but Republicans did a number on themselves when they spent millions of dollars investigation Clinton over multiple alleged offenses and came up relatively empty. Republicans can piss and moan about Clinton actually being impeached on a perjury charge, but many Americans think it ended up being a colossal waste of taxpayer money and ended up being about "a blow job." This is evidenced by Bill Clinton's popularity today. And, most Americans simply do not want to go through what the Republicans put us through in the 1990s.

So, in essence, a lot of Americans see hard core conservatives/Republicans as once again, crying wolf and doing whatever they can to get the Democratic President impeached. Couple that with the fact that there was never any serious consideration given to impeaching George Bush and you've got a situation where the Republicans, justified or not, are looking like sore losers.

And when a list is posted of "impeachable offenses" that includes lies, distortions and exaggerations, together with non-impeachable offenses, the argument to impeach is severely weakened.

I'm obviously no attorney, so I can't delve into legalities. I don't know for sure what is a "crime", or if it can be made to stick anyway. BUT, out of that list, whether illegal or not, he HAS made a lot of fuckups during his presidency, too many to ignore. I know he's not the first, I know GWB did too, as did Reagan - but I'm not trying to compare here. Just saying, this stuff isn't being handled properly. And if the checks and balances fail and the fuckups continue, it's not going to be surprising when future presidents do similar, and point to the past as precedent. But a few things I can't look beyond:

IRS abomination, someone is hiding shit, and "the buck stops here"
Fast and Furious - how did the weapons debacle get swept under the rug? Oh, the AG did that
    Hillary and Benghazi
Bowe Bergdahl - no way in HELL should the 5 Taliban been released. I can't say coverup yet, I'll wait to see if Bergdahl faces charges. Letting high ranking terrorists free to have them laugh at us. *SMH*
Too many end around on Congress
Too many executive orders that I don't think were qualified to make - not that I agree or disagree - I just don't think he had the power, but it was ignored

It's like Al Capone is made chief executive and all his minions are heading up the govt agencies. Anyone really think something can be done about him?

The list came from the Committee for Justice, and at the very least they appear to be working on solutions to some of this outrageous overreach of the executive branch.
    https://www.committeeforjustice.org/about

Sadly, we have more politicians sitting on their hands than standing on the principles they espoused to gain their seats.
    Great minds think for themselves
