If the freedom of speech is taken away
then dumb and silent we may be led,
like sheep to the slaughter.
George Washington (1732-1799) First President of the USA.
There's a waltz playin' frozen in time
Blades of grass on tiny bare feet

You'll wake up and find out you're alone
Cause I'll be gone
If the freedom of speech is taken away
then dumb and silent we may be led,
like sheep to the slaughter.
George Washington (1732-1799) First President of the USA.
Tides that I tried to swim against
Brought me down upon my knees

In my dreams I'm dying all the timeAs I wake its kaleidoscopic mind
If the freedom of speech is taken away
then dumb and silent we may be led,
like sheep to the slaughter.

Watch my daddy in bed and tired,
watch his hair been turning gray

Each one of these songs is special to me and reminds me of someone I love.

It's my life - Animals
lol - I just got done saying I couldn't name one other song. No, I didn't google it, the line "watching his hair been turning grey" clicked for me.
I remember when MTV first came out they only had like a dozen videos, this was one of them and it got heavy rotation time. I was never crazy about the song.
Hold my beer for a sec...
Everly, Bros Gone Gone Gone, 1964-65
Animals, We gotta get outta this place 1965-66Watch my daddy in bed and tired,
watch his hair been turning gray
Peter Paul and Mary, Leavin' on a jet plane 1968So kiss me and smile for me
Tell me that you'll wait for me
I don't know the others they must be late 70's or 80's
When I die I'm sure to go to heaven, cause I spent my time in hell.
You get more with a kind word and a two by four, than you do with just a kind word.
I don't know any of them, Sassy! I suck!! LOL
How about this one:
She was a fast machine, she kept her motor clean
She was the best damn woman that I ever seen
She had the sightless eyes, telling me no lies
Knocking me out with those American thighs
That one is easy.. AC/DC, You Shook Me All Night Long, one of my favorite of their songs.
Try this one on for size
Now I taught the weeping willow how to cry,
And I showed the clouds how to cover up a clear blue sky.
And the tears that I cried for that woman are gonna flood you Big River.
Then I'm gonna sit right here until I die.
I met her accidentally in St. Paul (Minnesota).
And it tore me up every time I heard her drawl, Southern drawl.
Then I heard my dream was back Downstream cavortin' in Davenport,
And I followed you, Big River, when you called.
Then you took me to St. Louis later on (down the river).
A freighter said she's been here but she's gone, boy, she's gone.
I found her trail in Memphis, but she just walked up the block.
She raised a few eyebrows and then she went on down alone.
Now, won't you batter down by Baton Rouge, River Queen, roll it on.
Take that woman on down to New Orleans, New Orleans.
Go on, I've had enough; dump my blues down in the gulf.
She loves you, Big River, more than me.
Now I taught the weeping willow how to cry, cry, cry
And I showed the clouds how to cover up a clear blue sky.
And the tears that I cried for that woman are gonna flood you Big River.
Then I'm gonna sit right here until I die.
One of his best songs. In my top ten favorites of all time.--Tyr
