Back in the 80's, aboard my ship. Our Skipper loved to let the crew pick tunes almost every evening at sea. Members of the crew would call the pilot house, and make requests. Then they'd play it over the ships announcing system that really sounded great on the warm nights when the moon was bright.

I liked this one. And eventually. Upon our return to home port. The crew agreed to Neil Diamond's AMERICA! Goose pimple, and Proud times they were.

Consider yourself lucky, LongTermGuy !!! Taking the thread title literally, just a handful of minutes ago I finished listening to a live feed of an Obama speech, from BBC News. Usually on the hour, and every quarter-hour, they supply news summaries. It's rare for them to suspend any of those. BUT ... they did so, tonight, to broadcast Obama from beginning to end.

They rounded it off with commentary from BBC staff that was nothing less than complimentary. More, they commented on the 'pain' the 'Confederate flag has caused' ....

I'll just break off to reach for the sick bag, before pondering if I want to withhold the BBC's license fee (.. currently a criminal offence in these parts ..).
