Of course I was not alive in those days. Even my mother was just a little girl in Finland. I wonder how other countries felt WWII would affect them.
I can only imagine the anger towards the Japanese at the time. I certainly understand the patriotism that must have been felt by all non-leftist Americans.
We owe a great debt to those great Americans who fought and (some) gave their lives for this country.
There are still a few Pearl Harbor vets left I see.

So, this is for them.
GOD BLESS AMERICA - IN GOD WE TRUST !
They are leaving us at a very fast rate now, getting faster day-by-day. I miss my dad and all those 'dads' that were Vets when I was a kid. They came home and just got on with it. They were most definitely grateful for the GI Bill which changed everything for those that came home.

probably the best ever attack scene. also credit for showing the carnage at the Naval Hospital as the staff is over whelmed by the wounded and dying

I sometimes wonder how WWII would have been affected if Roosevelt had acted on what he knew. And possibly prevented it.
http://www.independent.org/newsroom/article.asp?id=408On November 25, 1941 Japan’s Admiral Yamamoto sent a radio message to the group of Japanese warships that would attack Pearl Harbor on December 7. Newly released naval records prove that from November 17 to 25 the United States Navy intercepted eighty-three messages that Yamamoto sent to his carriers. Part of the November 25 message read: “...the task force, keeping its movements strictly secret and maintaining close guard against submarines and aircraft, shall advance into Hawaiian waters, and upon the very opening of hostilities shall attack the main force of the United States fleet in Hawaii and deal it a mortal blow...”

the only message sent to his carriers was "climb Mount Niitaka" the code to attack Pearl
I wonder how the last 7 years would have gone if some dumbass Dems had used their brains and not put our current Idiot in Chief in the WH .... One thing we DO know ... if Japan attacked Pearl Harbor today, O-blah-blah would NOT call it an act of war and Send his stooge Kerry over to make a one-sided peace deal.

A black man as POTUS in 1941. I'd say some of you need a history lesson.
