    Nature's Wonders Never Seem To Grow Old

    I saw the beautiful scene in great awe;
    As sun's last lights beat down red-gold;
    Such was Nature's sweet visual call-
    Nature's wonders never seem to grow old.

    Those last few moments set my heart alight,
    In heaven and earth's soft meeting fold.
    Such scenic views appearing just before night-
    Insure Nature's gifts never grow too old.

    The night's stars came to glorify the trees;
    Another gift that heaven sent, I am told;
    Where heaven and earth both use beauty's keys-
    Nature's wonders never seem to grow old.

    The joys of Nature's wonders never grow old.
    On that beauty and blessing I am dearly sold!

    Upon Misty Morn's Fading Glow

    Upon misty morn's fading glow,
    Fly fairies on silver wing,
    Darting with fantasies in tow
    And all the joy such may bring.

    Above their heads sun awaits,
    Its time to shine down anew,
    If seen, man then contemplates
    Depths of this mystical clue.

    As the dancing wings depart,
    One may ponder myriad of fates,
    Sadness beating within each heart
    longings of day's opening gates.

    Upon last flash time cries out,
    This is what life is all about.

    Third draft--will use in collaboration poem with Keith

    Upon Misty Morn's Fading Glow

    Upon misty morning's fast fading glow,
    dance fairies on glittering silver wings.
    Flying with fantasies flowing in tow
    And sweetest joy such dancing often brings.

    Above their heads the rising sun awaits,
    its morning sun's time for shining anew.
    If fairies are seen, man then contemplates,
    dreaming depths of that rare mystical clue.

    As dancing wings fast flutter to depart,
    one ponders glistened myriads of fate.
    Sadness beating in dreams of every heart,
    with embellished scenes of day's opened gates.

    Upon that vanishing flash time cries out,
    woe to he that simply waits upon me!
    Free living is what life is all about.
    Life taking dire chances is living free-

    First draft -6/6/6 challenge, last poem number 6.-Tyr

    Shown A Sweet Wonder Rarely Ever Known

    Fair forest glow, transcends earthly compare;
    Masked veils waiting to be sincerely asked;
    Why hide thee below a bright and blue sky,
    When your beauty is earth's covering skin?
    Shall not your greatness also teach man how,
    To live and gather up happiness due?
    We have seen wondrous face of ancient tree,
    Stands of black forest within German lands;
    Tokens of dark history now broken-
    On a relic of blood-sacrificing stone;
    Rests traces of previous savage guests
    Revealed now from a darkness once concealed
    Yet in same stand of timber you may get
    Shown a sweet wonder rarely ever known.

    SECOND DRAFT

    Known Now, A Hidden Sweet Wonder Rarely Known

    Green forest glowings transcends earthly green.
    Masked veils waiting to be wisely unmasked.
    Why hide the answer after asking why?
    Would a forest's skin be only bark wood?

    Can not earth's Nature also prove man can;
    live in peace and do right by letting live.
    Finding old trees joyous in the finding.
    Many jewels found where runes are many.

    Tokens of darkness just ancient tokens.
    On blood-sacrificing stones, red stains still on.
    Hope for greater insight against lost hope;
    revealed in wood old savagery revealed.

    Yet old timber growths you may still find yet
    Unknown miracles crying to be known.

    Writing this in ten syllable verses made it ten times more difficult,
    doubled again by hitting that perfect 100 words. Both were not required
    in the Shadow form but I enjoyed adding that greater challenge.

    Cut Down By Deeds Of History's Warlords

    Saddened with their agony and deep pain,
    the black of nights slowly passed on away:
    Purple hearts can never ever explain,
    war's dark, needless battle deaths anyway!

    Dear sweet memories soothe a wounded mind
    thus bringing much needed relief to bear.
    Twilight's brings on another sad hurt kind,
    stripping shattered souls so completely bare.

    Darkness and misery grinds the brave stone,
    where hope hides in such strange shadowy fjords.
    Lives wasted, brave people forever gone,
    cut down by deeds of history's warlords!

    Heaven will judge right those souls forced to die!
    Hell will burn warlords, we need not ask why?

    Your Romantic Lights It Can Not Replace

    Full moon beaming down so brightly tonight
    Your dancing light did not seem quite the same
    Glorious moon, you are a lovely sight
    With love interlaced in your yellow flame!

    Watching you shining and sharing such gifts
    Lovers feel your magnificent powers
    Beautiful calming sky that so uplifts
    Gazing in stuttering awe these sweet hours!

    As dawn rushes up to your light erase
    We feeling sadness in hearts wanting more
    For while missing you and your smiling face
    We ask, you travel to what distant shore?

    Sun is wonderful with hot burning face
    Your romantic lights it can not replace!

    Lost, At A Most High Cost

    I will not become that image in your head
    Nor will I seek to change sincere heart in me.
    Alas! Not even if I find you are dead,
    and my heart's repentance was your last sad plea!

    You never knew the spirit within a man,
    one that refused to damage his soul for thee.
    Nay! You dare to ask more that I ever can,
    give up and yet still live a life that is free!

    We last spoke, you asked even more of my soul.
    Your hateful words rang like a loud clanging bell.
    True! They cut deeply and took a heavy toll.
    Yet my refusal saved me from living hell.

    You casted away our deep joy and sweet dreams.
    I paid that price, rejecting your selfish schemes!

    Why Hit Us With Nature's Best

    The hot sun falls in its allotted place
    allowing dark world rising , us to meet.
    Alas! We beasts of the sad human race,
    run forth seeking all by the way we cheat!
    Although given sweet earth and freshest air,
    we scramble for much more in our sad greed.
    And what of our Fate, should we even care?
    Or dare in desperate prayer to plead?

    Sunsets show us things end and start again,
    complete with new hope of the rising dawn.
    Can we find promise that it may explain,
    dew shining on a green, freshly mowed lawn?

    Ah, you ask, why hit us with Nature's best?
    Because if seen clear, it proves all the rest!

    Hot Hell, No Place For The Weak

    Last time I went there, hot hell was waiting,
    in sinful crevices just past burning flames.
    There was fleshly lust there and just baiting,
    we dumb enough to join in its black games!

    High rose leaping flames as wicked laughs roared,
    and shadows edged much closer to steal all.
    Great thrills in pleasures, nobody was bored,
    one could hear, sweetest sirens as they call!

    That feeling of great power as one fell,
    into a hole dark, dank and very deep.
    No retreat, no help, just pain in black hell,
    later ever lasting torment in sleep!

    Wake bleeding, wallowing in broken glass.
    Amidst other victims crying in mass!

    Night The Raging Beast Met Its Match

    Darkened night winds came blasting forth,it found,
    sky ripped and stars falling right on down.
    Earth shaking as each hit the cold hard ground,
    truly lively night that night in small town.

    Wicked roar as one wild beast dared to roam,
    with thrills on its mind and hell raising too.
    No care for peace, quiet and a safe home,
    it drank and thought crashing wild hell was due.

    That was well before it met its night's match,
    a vixen set to turn beast upside down.
    Her sexy looks to the beast a prize catch,
    yet her chains soon turned him into a clown.

    Story of how beauty met savage beast.
    Upon his weaker bones she did then feast!

    Fate, Imagination and Dreams

    Failing in life, there can be but one thought
    self contempt for roads not rightly chosen.
    What of Fate's power that can not be bought?
    Life is a stream seldom ever frozen.
    To each fish its a world of contentment,
    racing maze filled with all that is needed.
    No past bringing on dark, self resentment,
    we can change fate if wisdom is heeded.

    We are not mere fish so easily led,
    instead we are walking, talking creatures.
    Striving to maintain dreams in each clear head,
    imagination one of our features.
    Could fierce spirit ever bear such deep cut,
    as pleasures whose doors were so soundly shut?

    Where Man Walks Blindly Crying All Is Lost

    As mind ponders on life and its brief span-
    Only a gasp in the great fog of time;
    Fleeting the days and quests of mortal man
    Often in darkness, void of any rhyme.
    Walking in pouring rain with sheer delight;
    So, so short those pleasures may often be ;
    Man born to deep rage and so quick to fight,
    Eternally yearns to be truly free.
    Sages and poets, keepers of heartfelt thought-
    Souls that cry out for sweeter love and peace,
    Too often ignored, favoring those bought,
    Scoundrels hell will have and never release!
    Rejection of truth has its steepest costs:
    Where man walks blindly crying all is lost.

    Ye May Find Righteous Ardency's Delight

    You my love, shall glide within the soft wind
    Along streams, forests and high mountain tops.
    Over stone cliffs, down rivers with no end,
    Seeing the all of Nature's finest crops.

    Each season shall open its arms to thee,
    Giving of Nature and Earth's ripened fruits.
    Across night's Heaven and its massive sea,
    Ye shall see all from mankind's human roots.

    Where ever light shall shine its blessed glow
    Ye may find righteous ardency's delight.
    For your spirit shall always my love know
    Your love is everything in my love's sight.

    Where the moon casts its passion giving beams
    Our love flows gently in romantic streams!

    The Winds That Blustering Blow

    The winds that blustering blow
    Leave silence by the way;
    Far-off cascades of crystal snow
    Have burning things to say.

    The music of one memory
    Stills all the battle-storm,
    And in the bitter winter woods
    The gray deer nestles warm.

    In this Nature's wooded maze
    serenity holds gentle sway;
    Winter gales leave icy glaze
    were woods meet lakeside bay.

    As cold winds creatively blow,
    Nature puts on yet another show.

    Those Youthful Days Were Intensely Sweet

    In poetic words, disillusionment I often paint,
    about a wild man that was never a saint.
    A life that raced into darkness in such haste,
    never seeing the coming misery and waste!

    There were hills of thrills to happily scale
    never thinking of either heaven or hell.
    I grabbed the pleasures that deep lust demands
    while dancing to music of rock n roll bands!

    O' yes, those youthful days were intensely sweet
    and every day a challenge to have a blast.
    Now in my maturity I find that this I must meet
    reality of my faded memories shall not last.

    Time has a way of it delivering its great hits.
    We that live to see it find it to be the pits!

    Robert J. Lindley, 1-19-2015

    Note: Memories even if bitter sweet, are still gold
    when one wants to frolic in the past and ponder
    the what-ifs, the if-only's and the I should-of's...
    You know you are old when you look back more than you look forward methinks. Old age, the great equalizer..

    Angry Shots At The Bright Howling New Moon

    He saw in himself, door into the dark.
    An empty house with wicked black windows.
    Such dreaded truth, he thought a brilliant spark,
    lightning caged there for use by brave heroes.

    Death, that odd illusion he did deny,
    why give it power and leeway too soon?
    Dismiss it as Nature's dark scheming lie,
    angry shots at the bright howling new moon.

    Had he traveled on after others died?
    Invincible to the pain of death's bite,
    immune to sorrow and fate's cut applied.
    Blind in misery, never wanting sight!

    He saw himself, a man with no real home.
    A shadow destined this bleak world to roam.
